It really depends on Tesla "dealership" you are going/buying it from. Here in the area of Maryland that I live, all shops are badly rated.. a lot of customer service complains... I went into one of them for a Demo Drive .. I was not even greeted or explained where to check in etc. I had to walk around and ask everyone what to do.. So it really varies...

Yeah like my experience leaving work early to get to delivery appointment, only to wait there outside for 2 hours until they finally realize they could not get my car ready that day after all. 🤷‍♂️ Well at least one of the employees offered to drive me home in his M3P. 👌

Agree!! My delivery pickup was faster than picking up a pre-arranged rental car. My car was ready about 1 hour before my scheduled pickup time. Arrived at the dealership 30 minutes early, the fellow at the desk assigned me to a brand new employee (literally his first client) who took me to the car, installed the license plate and I was gone in less than 15 minutes (before I was actually scheduled to arrive)

I have a 21 and a 22 MY. The biggest difference is the Ryzen chip in the 22. The most appreciated difference in the speed of the Ryzen is the instant on of the blind spot camera when using the directional. There is a good second or second and half of lag in the 21 which makes lane changing in heavy traffic more challenging.

Have to say for me it was quite the opposite. 10 years ago when I got my Toyota Yaris Hybrid it was hidden with a cloth and the dealer pulled it off for me, revealing my car, got some goodies and a talk and he showed me how everything could be set up. A+ Tesla model y experience 2 months ago: Got an e-mail to pick a date when to pick it up, could only choose a wednesday so I picked a time slot around lunch so I could catch a train getting there (took 2 hours because Tesla Netherlands doesn't have enough trucks to deliver the car closer to my home for some reason even though I live close to a big Tesla store). Arrived nicely on time, was told to walk around to find my car, wasn't there, asked a rep, said it was being worked on and there was a bit of delay and told me to wait again. All in all I went back and forth with the rep asking where my car is and being told to wait another half hour. It took 3 hours total. Then I inspected the car, found some scratches on the paint and some dirt on the seats, they fixed it and said they didn't have time to clean it properly so the white marks I saw on the paint were only the polishing residue bla bla. Okay, I left, cleaned the car myself, turns out they were polishing holograms and needed to be fixed professionally. Made a service request with Tesla, with pictures, came to the service center where I could wait on the comfortable flex work stools (my back hurts thinking about it). Waited 1,5 hours and then was told they were not going to touch it because it was so bad, instead a damage repair company would take care of it and I'd have to reschedule. In the end I had to wait a week for my car, I did get an old beat up model S as a loaner with me. It had a €2500 own risk insurance (like what the hell?). Got it back, huge improvement but still not all the holograms are fixed. In the end I went on holiday, nice roadtrip through Germany, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, camped in the back of the car which was epic. Need to make new service appointments to fix the rest, but all in all, picking up the car and fixing these issues already cost me more than 10 hours of my time, not once I heard sorry. Telling them I'm angry only made them say "I'd be annoyed as well" which is just a freaking understatement. Tesla experience Z- The car drives great and all, but no customer should have to go through this much nonsense.

And even though the service center decided to bring it to a damage repair company (for a brand new car), it was so bad that it's not fully fixed even, I've to go back another time. Is my paint still okay after this much polishing? All unknowns to me. Tesla delivery center in Tilburg is just the worst.

Great video, Chris (as usual!) - We just got our new Model Y a few days ago - we originally had a Long-Range Model Y (purchased with FSD for $8K and also did the performance boost for another $2K) in October, 2020 - when Elon made the offer to allow you to transfer your FSD, it was a no-brainer decision - we pulled the trigger and did the exchange - Tesla gave us a very decent trade-in value (a little less than if we sold it privately, but the diff was probably only about $2K or $3K - and Tesla made doing the trade-in so damn easy!) ... I've seen the same observations you made - and I miss our FSD Beta and a few of the other features, but I'm confident we'll get all the features restored in the next few months - autopilot works just fine (good enough anyway) - the car is so much quieter than our original Model Y ... and we also went for the Model Y Performance this time around - the acceleration difference is quite noticeable! The warning on how close you are when parking in the garage is not quite as accurate without the radar - but it's more than good enough ... also, the new cameras are awesome and the screen is so much more responsive - quite noticeable to me ... but the best part was the center console - no more piano-black-keys finish - that was the clincher for us! :)

I have given thought to the seven seat setup mainly because it would make bring the dogs along a lot easier. they ride in crates for safety but each one requires a seat belt. As long as the glass keeps the heat from burning down on those seats it will be fine else means getting ceramic tint

Well, "blown away" is a bit strong to describe my experience. All-wheel drive will, I'm sure, be nice when winter comes. The car is easier to get in and out of. The MY 19" Continental tires are not all the quiet compared to the 18" Michelins that came on my Model 3. The powered liftgate doesn't seem like a big deal, and it has to be kept lower than maximum because of the garage door; I'm all the time banging my head on the hatch. The biggest negative is that I temporarily lost FSD Beta, plus Summon, Autopark, and a good estimate of how far away the garage wall is. I'm also getting lots of bogus Forward Collision Warnings.

Thanks for the preview Chris. I just traded my 18 Model3 myself for the new Model Y? Couldn’t be a better time to do it. Got to transfer the FSD, got the $7500 Tax Credit, the $2000 state incentive, and it’s great to be back under the full new car warranty again. Loved my Model 3, but if the were available back in 18 the Y would have been my first choice then. Hope the wait for the FSD won’t be much longer.

I have a 7 seat driver profile which moves the front seat up a little bit, so the middle seat can be moved up a little bit creating more room in the very back

There's a tinting shop next door to the Tesla showroom and service center in Houston. The first thing we did after picking up both our Model 3 and Model Y was driving it 20 feet to the tint shop to get 3M Crystalline tint.

Great car, glad you got the FSD transferred. Our 2018 Model 3 with FSD was rear ended in May (not our fault). We took delivery of a new in stock (needed a car) 2023 Model 3 RWD June 22nd with an out of pocket cost of about $32K after the $7500 federal rebate. Could not justify $15K plus taxes for FSD with the associated higher insurance premiums/registration costs. BTW, the insurance company gave us almost nothing for Autopilot/FSD on our totaled car. The Tesla comparable used car prices were dropping like a rock during the two and a half months settlement negotiation period. I have FSD locked in at either 7K or 8K for the Cybertruck!

Lol....the cleanest it will ever be...lol...our experience picking up our YLR was the dirtiest it will ever be...ours was covered with a layer of dirt and had a smiley sun drawn on the hood...and the Tesla SC claimed they detailed it before delivering to the pickup parking lot...lol...and we had waited two hours after our scheduled time for a dirty car. And our experience got worst from that point on.

We are picking up our second Y today. I’m really hoping the pickup experience is better than the last time we bought one. The car was out in the pouring rain, they wouldn’t let us even look at the car before we accepted delivery, they had a certain, this is the way attitude. But seriously, what kind of hubris is that to tell a customer they need to sign for a car before even seeing it. And then, not even putting it under a roof so we were not standing in the rain. Terrible. But the cars are amazing, so it’s all worth it.

That’s the point at the end, I agree that it would be nice if it was in the dry. But to ensure that, they would have to rent massive empty buildings. That has a cost. There mission is to get as many people driving and EV I guess, not to hand over cool cars in the dry. Funny how dealers have been fleecing us for a fancy hand over for years. Wow, the girls are so big!! Awesome! We got some seat covers that were for pets, and it's no longer super hot when getting in and out. It just won't be so hip and neat like the car came. But, it will handle vomit from kids and pets, and makes for easy cleanup. BTW, Le Croix can help clean up kids stains and vomit on those seat covers.😂

Leg room for the kids in the second row 3:10 ....your kids must have very tiny legs...lol...try getting in and out from the third row on the right side. The second row seat rails on the right are closer together because the seat is smaller and there's no room for feet in between the rails and getting in and out, our feet tend to get caught on the rails.

Thanks for a great video Chris. I would love to have a new Model Y but could never afford another one. Is that a brand new service center where you picked up your car? I've been to 3 in the Pacific NW and they have space for about 75 cars and 100 cars in the lot so it's very hard to even find a place to park usually it's just pulling off to the side enough for another car go by you. I just got a 2023 Model Y and the windows are really noisy. It seems when the windows go when they hit the top they stick out. (driver window only) I have tried to recalibrate them, but it is still the same. If I roll them down just a little, they are quitter. I need to make an appointment to have Tesla look at it. Other than that the Model Y is great. Love your content.

It's hard to totally answer that but the car is a dream. If you'd be like suffering paying for it now, but a huge factor is Y/3 are the safest cars on the road.
