We visit WDW about every 2 years. We have visited with just the four of our immediate family and have gone with as many as eight. Being a military family, we have ALWAYS stayed at Shades of Green (SOG). This time our group includes the wife, myself, our two boys (22 & 18) our youngest son's buddy, our oldest son's girlfriend, and my in-laws. We booked at SOG, but something in my head said to check around. We had to book three rooms, which drove the (SOG) cost higher than normal. Having to spend more on lodging gave us options we have not had in the past. In the end, we cancelled SOG and booked Old Key West. Our Disney reservations agent told us how much her family enjoys it so, based solely on her passion for the place, we booked it. We got a two bedroom villa. Disney Springs is a favorite visit for us, though it was Downtown Disney when we last visited in July 2015. I'm looking forward to finally having a reason to use a water taxi. We've used the friendship boats and ferry across bay lake, but that's it. Videos of the two bedroom villas have convinced me that we made the right decision on this location. Most of all, I'm an early riser and love making breakfast. This is the first time I'll be able to cook. It saves us a BUNCH of money on food cost, which we can apply to spending in the parks and shops. Don't get me wrong, the breakfast buffet at SOG is wonderful, but I'm happy to not feel rushed. Thank you for the insight in to Old Key West. I'm looking forward to the memories. Décor isn't that important, comfort and memories are the reason we return again and again. This one is going to be especially great as it's even more family joining us. Thanks again, Connor Dotson

OKW is my favorite resort for an adults only trip. AKL is still my favorite when I take my little sister, but when I got with friends, it's exclusively OKW.

Thank you guys for this wonderful review!! I am in the process of planning our August trip and this series has been very useful. This will be our first stay in a deluxe resort. We usually stay at Port Orleans French Quarter and wanted to change it up a bit.

Thank you for the info. I have resort hopped on my past vacation just to see what was available at the deluxe but did really get much info other than yeah the grounds/ lobby are nice. These filled in some of my blanks.

My family will be having their first family vacation at OKW in 5 days. There are 8 of us, a very close family, and the first visit for 5 members. I, being the experienced one, have been driving myself a little crazy planning out all the details for us all, which I might add, is a huge responsibility. After viewing this, I just wanted to thank you all, but especially Pete, for putting me back in the right frame of mind. You are right. It truly is about the memories we make at the end of the day. Thank you for sharing, the reality check, and the change in perspective. I want you to know how much you are all are appreciated. Much love from a Pennsylvania fan! Old Key West is the only resort you can drive and park your car by your room, which is another added bonus. I love OKW and Love the 7 in 7!! Thank you for all the hard work and valuable information :)

EXACTLY! This point was completely missed on the show. We are a family that rarely uses bus transportation, and for those who prefer to drive, OKW cannot be beat. Saratoga Springs and AK - Kidani Village are a close 2nd in that regard.

Our family loves the feel of OKW. A lot of the complaints don't effect us because we rent a vehicle and eat at restaurants all over WDW when on vacation, so I don't feel that it is isolated. It just feels laid back to me. And I used to really like Craig before seeing this show.

We have visited OKW for the past 6 years ( from Wolverhampton in U.K.) and will be there again in August 2015. Here in the UK us Brits get some great deals combined with the regular DDP. We always request Block 20/21 on Millers Rd. 21 days is our regular duration each year. As Pete said, dining is restricted, but we prefer to hop in the car and visit POR for counter service. I had to smile at JeniLynn - driving for 12 hours and then carrying luggage up to second floor. Last visit, we had 2 hour drive to airport, 3 hour wait, 9 hour flight, 3 hour wait in Miami Airport, 4 hour drive up to Miami and then carry our luggage up stairs! LOL. The best thing of all is within 30 minutes of leaving the park, you could feeyl as if you where a million miles form all the hustle of the crowds. We tend to do EMH park in morning and then return back to OKW around lunchtime for some pool time or a "BAWB" nap! and then freshen up for our evening ADR. OKW is just the best

Great job on the 7-in-7 this year guys. I can't imagine how hard these must be, but really enjoyed this series. Whoever designed the badge, very nice as well. I also had no idea Pete and John were once a couple, cool that you guys are still such close friends.

My family and I signed up to the DVC in October last year and they are still not pushy at all, it sells itself. We look forward to going this year with our membership and hopefully here too, instead of our home GF, want to save this for my honeymoon next year :) Love your channel!

Pete, I know that these 7in7 visits, shows, & productions are tough on your folks...but they are SO informative, fun, and beloved for the viewers. THIS - more than any of your other shows - reminds me of a family sitting around a table recalling a favorite vacation they experienced. Some see it differently, some have different recollections of it or discovered a differently aspect of the place...but all had fun. It IS the memories that your CREW is making...and hey, that's what a Disney vacation IS for all of us. Making those memories that we will sit around, discuss, and joke about - the stories we tell. Thank you SO much for doing them. They have been a joy to watch. Oh, and one more thing... I REALLY liked your stories of discovering this with John and your family. It may not have been about Disney directly...but it helps paint a picture of the place..and mostly of YOU. I like getting to know the crew, their families, and their stories. Thanks for that too.

Pete I realize the 7 & 7s are difficult but please don't stop. If you have to maybe do 1 resort review every couple months or 2 every 4 months. In any case these shows are great and very informative. I enjoy the different perspectives whether different from my own or the same. thanks, you guys do a great job.

Great show. I'm going to give the resort a 6. Nice resort. Pluses: Great theme and feel. Beautiful grounds. Rooms are soooo large. Great staff. Minuses: Inconvenient location and lack of transportation options to the parks. Not many food options. Uninspired pool area. Way too sprawling. With me being handicapped, the lack of elevators in many buildings isn't good. Nice resort, just that the minuses for my family and me are pretty big.

I really understand what Craig is saying. Coming to WDW is not a regular vacation. I think I would enjoy this resort on a vacation to the shore somewhere but at WDW I want to be close to the action and surrounded by DISNEY. Craig I like your outlook, reminds me of my youngest son.
