I have noticed that British shows included people with disabilities much more frequently. The new season of Unforgotten has someone in a wheelchair. I loved it when I saw it - and how it was just part of the scene- not made to be something more. They also include actors of all ages and allow people to just be human.

I haven't seen Unforgotten, but want to go check it out now! Thank you for the recommendation. And, yes. Allowing people to just be human is somehow rare, but such a beautiful thing!

I’m kind of sick of “autistic coded” just give me autistic characters written by autistic people. It’s exhausting that we’re just grasping to get any kind of representation

This is an excellent point. I understand that obvious disclosure may not be made in all areas of TV or movies, but more open representation is 100% needed! And, all the way through the process, like you said. From the writing, to the characters, actors, etc. Thank you for taking the time to comment!
