Thank you so much for posting this! That flashing Compass calibration stuff was so annoying and now it’s gone thank you thank you thank you! And the reference to the old-school rotating Compass was great too. I’m ordering one of those right now.

Dude, you're awesome. Just bought a used 2013 and this was driving me nuts. Tried to recalibrate but the instructions in the manual didn't work. I've driven decades in a car with no compass and don't need to start now. Easiest car fix yet. Thank you!

I've never used a compass to navigate in my crv since new 2012. But thank you for showing us how to fix, mine has been flashing for years and it drives me crazy!

Does disconnecting that module cause the car to throw a trouble code? Thanks for posting this video. That flashing calibration light is bugging my wife and we don't need that ! It refuses to recalibrate, can't even get to the screen.

Nope. Removing the module just stops the flashing. No error code.

I had the same thing happen to a 2014 CRV after battery replacement, it calibrated itself after turning the ignition to on position and holding setup button. No more blinking compass.

@@jkucukov In my case and in the case of many others, the recalibration routine works for the first few minutes and then presents the error again. In that situation the compass head unit is fried and needs to be replaced or simply disconnected as exhibited in this video.

It was interesring that it continued to show direction just fine, the only issue was the blinking and Cal there after. I'm keeping my fingers crossed it doesn't come back.

The compass is an unnecessary feature with today’s technology, using your cell phone. Your $10-$15 solution is a great cheap way to go. Plus they look cooler than the dash display.

Not sure, but as an engineer and not used to watching the phone screen all the time while driving the compass is a must have feature and it should be in every car. I always know which direction on the street I am going and we don't use gps or Google maps locally.

@@alexthebear I had to drive from Wisconsin to Colorado with that thing flashing the whole time:/. What a relief to have it disconnected:)!
