Dachshund's (or Sausage Dogs) are known to have health problems with their legs. This poor pooch unfortunately lost the use of his back legs, but a kind friend gives the sausage dog a surprise gift - a wheelchair. This gift gives the small dog a new lease of life. Check out this disabled dachshund as he gets a new set of wheels!

This also happened to my sausage dog. He was fine one day until it just happened. Luckily he recovered from the surgery and is recovering really well

Oh my, what a delightful story. Jack is some kind of fella, and he seems so happy. She uses the same criteria I use for our pups. Essentially, will it help the little guy have a happy life? And that dog sitter is THE BEST. How considerate of her.

We had the same problem with our dachshund „Pollo“. After his surgery he wasn‘t able to walk and he became incontinent. We were extremely desperate and didn‘t know what to do. One day we discovered acupuncture for dogs. We made some good experiences with acupuncture ourselves and gave it a shot. The doctor told us that the whole surgery could have been avoided when we would have visited her earlier. After a few sessions he made some major improvements. A few more sessions later he was walking with a limp BUT he was walking on his own, having fun and enjoying life again. I hope this procedure may help many other dachshunds and their owners!

That makes sense, acupuncture “re-awakens” nerves, and nerves is exactly the problem when it comes to paralysis. Although most people don’t take it seriously, acupuncture and chiropractic are great treatments. They’re “eastern medicines”, eastern is affective against lifelong ailments while western is effective for short term ailments. With western medicine, we want a one and done solution, a surgery, a pill, a crutch, while it may work, it’s not addressing the lifelong problem.

I have had a couple of doxies, and cared for my son's and brother's dachshunds through the years. they are an awesome breed. sadly, all sausage dogs in our family have gone over the rainbow bridge. they are all truly missed. I wouldn't mind having more wiener dogs, but already have 4 dogs and hubby says we are at the limit 😏

Happened to mine 2 weeks ago. Awful. 8-10k for a surgery that’s less than 50% will work. I ordered the wheels.

My sausage dog is a little demon. He’s fine to me, my dad, brother and dads girlfriend. And two of my friends. But to everyone else he’s a devil. He’ll try to attack them and won’t stop barking. I blame my dads girlfriend and her daughter since they like to abuse him a lot

@@danielledewitt1 What are you talking about? Dachshunds are very commonly referred to as sausage dogs/weiner dogs. Just like the Airedale is nicknamed the King of Terriers, Whippets are the Poor Man's Racehorse, Bull Terriers are the White Cavalier, Corgis are Loaves, the Weimaraner is the Gray Ghost, etc. There are many breeds that have wholly acceptable and cute little nicknames.
