This performance has made this song go way higher on my list. It’s crazy how seeing the acting can change your impression of the song.

The song was always a comfort song for me and I finally decided to watch the full musical on KZbin, Mike's and Micheals performance for Conner and Evan were really fun. I feel like Mike even though not being in it much played the Chaotic and made up version of Conner really well even in the moments where he just needed to walk around, like he was the character. Micheal also done so well as Evan. In all his songs it felt like a older teenager and even the body language Micheal done matched so well with Evan's character! It really brings you into the story.

Connor is a major character in the broadway version, I absolutely hate how they made him such a minor character in the movie ):

Well Ben's father was the producer of the movie. He wasn't going to give a second more screentime than absolutely necessary to the other actors...

While i LOVE movies that make someone who dies in the first 1/4 of the movie still a main character (e.g. Watchmen with the Comedian), I can see how choosing to NOT keep Connor’s ghost coming back reinforces the overall narrative that once people die, all we really have to go on is what still-living people have to say about them (for better or for worse)… Still tho we missed out on some heartstring-tugging songs in the movie 😭

That’s the appeal of this song 🥹 The idea of our own mortality… The guy that was banging the girl I was into recently OD’d on fentanyl, sure I didn’t like him but he didn’t deserve to poof into nothing 😫 He was days away from publishing a book, so me feeling for him just reflects on the fact that I want to be known for something before passing away… Still tho 😢 Dis song doe 😭

I relate to this show bc my brother unalived himself and the show is about suicide. This is my favorite song makes me cry every time. I saw this show in 2018.

I saw this yesterday and I loved it so much the actors that played the characters were amazing and awesome I sing along to all of the songs like waving through a window you will be found and disappear and if I could tell her and only us and forever and good for you and my favorite part was is when Zoe and Evan made up and my 3 not so favorite parts were eaven told Connors family the truth and eaven and his mom got into a fight and eaven was not nice to Jared
@TeamHangout-md1xt Жыл бұрын
Umm Jared was the one who wasn't nice to evan
@christopherrussell6055 Жыл бұрын
@@TeamHangout-md1xtgoes both ways 😒 But yeah I feel like Jared was so dismissive of Evan, slotting him into “acquaintances” when he didn’t realize he was one of Evan’s only (if not THE ONLY) friends, so it sucks that Evan roped him around later (more in the musical than the movie)

Evan: Mentions literally nothing about Alana being Vice President of The Conner Project. Alana: “I would be honoured to be Vice President of The Conner Project!” God, I hate Alana.
@meatymaggot2 жыл бұрын
Honestly I do agree, I dislike her character for part of that reason. I feel in the song Good For You when Evan tells her "You think your important because you were lab partners with him once." And she claims she knows how it's like to be invisible is totally wrong. Because she is the student council President and clearly is liked by many. I feel like she wasn't betrayed. I think it's right for her to be pissed at Evan for creating a whole fucked up lie but she forced her way into the Conner project. She is the President of it after all like she is for all her classmates. I feel like the writers missed what they could've made for her character and just made her a stereotypical nerd totally not the protagonist girl. So all in all I agree, her character kinda sucks.
@DieselD7101 Жыл бұрын
@@meatymaggot I couldn’t’ve put it better myself. Alana was completely insufferable and an absolute control freak throughout the whole show, not just for forcing herself into The Conner Project, but she also posted Evan’s letter online thinking it would “inspire people” despite Evan telling her multiple times not to, and like you mentioned, the idea that she knew what it was like to feel alone was complete BS.
