I grew up during THE COLD WAR, when everybody said I must HATE RUSSIA. But I didn't. Then in the early 1990s I lived in Vienna, where everyone said I should FEAR RUSSIA, but I didn't. Now I am 63, and I can finally clearly see what a country like Russia does to its neighbors and its citizens, and I finally hate Russia. But I do not fear them. I just want their vast empire dismantled, as it should be. Now the Ukrainians bleed for this to happen: not us, even though this is OUR WAR as much as theirs. Let's Help them more - Please.

exactly, it's the Western world against the last colonial empire in Europe. if Russia is left to keep doing what the want (and have done for so long) eventually most (maybe even all) of Europe will feel the terror. Ukraine just has the bad luck of being between Russia and the rest of Europe, so we should help them for as long as needed. and after they have beaten the Russian back of their border and the war is over. we should do our best to rebuild Ukraine, they deserve it. and if Ukraine wants it we could use that rebuilding to help them modernize and integrate more with the rest of Europe (the EU). (like making their rail network compatible with the European one instead of the Russian one) that way they might become even better than before the war and they're able to join the EU quicker. Ukraine and the EU could both benefit from each other.

It is very sad that you have succumbed. Listen to John Mearsheimer "Why Ukraine is the Wests fault" for a non-emotional analysis, and "Ukraine on Fire" by Oliver Stone for a more emotional pro-Russian perspective. Are you not aware of what Ukraine has been doing to its pro-Russian citizens for the last 8 years? Are you aware that only 13% of Crimeans actually want to return to Ukraine? Don't believe me. I am just telling you what you will find if you make an effort to be objective.

At least the UK still has squirrels. Here in the Netherlands we ran out of squirrels months ago!! I locked away my lawnmower, because since I just go out to gnaw on the lawn three times a day, I find there's no need for the lawnmower anymore. On Sundays and other special occasions we chew on our wooden shoes for a treat. Somebody found a peppermint end of last year, so for Christmas the whole family gathered around to smell grandpa's breath as he sucked on the peppermint. It was lovely. I do still miss the squirrels though.

I'm from the UK and we DO eat squirrel! It's always a high-end delicacy dish and often announced just to create press interest and get some PR.. There was a pub back in 2008 that served squirrel kebabs for a time, and a London restaurant that more recently served a squirrel ragu. It tasted a lot like rabbit, apparently. But it's not something we can pick up at our local butcher's, nor would 99% of us want to. It's worth pointing out that we ONLY eat culled GREY squirrel, which is considered a pest in our country because they've aggressively taken over so much habitat previously occupied by our beautiful shy RED squirrel, which is a protected species. So up yours, Olga. At least we don't eat rats, dogs and cats like most of your impoverished citizens are forced to do..

The Squirrel thing... Some years ago, I remember hearing that Pyongyang parks, had no small animals any longer, and they had to protect the grass from being picked to eat. The Government then took pictures and such, then made a "News Report" that New York City Parks had no small animals any longer, and they had to protect the grass from being picked to eat... So, they took a common issue they can know, and put it on a hated foe. SO easily believed, because that is how THEY are living, NOW.. Freud would need therapy in short order if he were here...

God bless the Ukraine! Improvise, adapt and overcome. I admire the Ukrainian army for its squad tactics. I love to see the Ukrainian army in combat using US made weapons, i.e., M-777 155mm howitzers, HIMARS, MLRS and Javelin missiles against the Ruskie army. Warms my heart seeing my taxes well spent. And now Patriot missiles, Switchblades and JDAM's. We used LGB (laser guided bombs), the father of JDAM's back in Vietnam in 1972. I know I was there. I helped build the tail fin assemblies for the Mark III 750 pounders that we used, Marine All Weather Attack Squadron 224 which was an A-6A-B, KA-6D tanker and EA-6B Prowler squadron. JDAM's made dumb iron bombs steerable with either laser guided or now, GPS guided avionics for the munitions. The Ukrainians have gotten pretty good at using quad & octi-copters not only for instant intelligence (eyes in the sky) but for munitions delivery and artillery fire support. Why would a Ruskie tanker ride around or park his tank with the hatch open??? If your hatch is open you should not be in the tank because your tank has a flaw in its design. You're sitting on a pile of explosives. But then we are not dealing with professionals here. Of course, psychological warfare is also in play here as the Ruskie army either surrenders or dies in battle, not for his country but for Poot'en. The brilliant plan of "I Want To Live" implemented into the Ukrainian military has helped as well. Of course this is a proxy war between the free world and the Ruskie tyrant Czar Poot'en's attempt to reestablish the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republic with help from China on the down low. Now Poot'en is trying to empty the prisons in Russia and extinguish all the overproduced Soviet era relics to make room for the latest, fastest and best of all war machines. He's already failed in Chechnya and Georgia despite setting up a puppet in Belarus. We are thankful for neighboring countries, Poland and all the small countries. Despite Germany and France helping the Ukraine in its fight for freedom against Russian tyranny, Germany recently closed a nuclear reactor and according to Merkel, Germany will revert to fossil fuel which they will get from Russia. France is also dependent upon Russia for its nuclear fuel. So I wouldn't be surprised to see less German and French made munitions. But thanks to these nations for what they are doing to help Ukraine's fight against tyranny as well as England for all their contributions to the war effort. It's time for the Russian people to wake the hell up and get rid of the Czar Poot'en before he starts a nuclear fiasco! Slava Ukraine! Cheers from eastern Tennessee

@w.rustylane5650 Nice Rant ''The brilliant plan of "I Want To Live" implemented into the Ukrainian military has helped as well.'' Really for 240,000 of them it meant nothing. Another US proxy battle they will lose to add to their failures since 1945.Vietnam 1972 and you haven't learned anything ,so many limbless veterans with PTSD who wake up daily and say ''Why,for what''? Nothing that's what.
