I love my Rocksteady. Came out of the package fine and I prefer the knife vs the shield anyways. I just kind of displayed it as an in front extra.

Great video! I am 3 figures in (getting the 4th in the mail today) and I am enjoying each one so far. My Mickey isn't as shiny as yours seems to be, so hopefully that was just an oversight, not only on your Mickey but the other problems you seem to have in this wave.

I’ll glue it, but I think I was clear what disappointed me about the other figures. Shiny plastic, balance problems etc. disappointment is a fairly tame term in the scheme of things. This is still one of my favorite lines as I also said in the video 😊

Its time to have Super 7 lower its prices back down to an affordable price. 50$ per figure is WAYYYYYY to much to be having on 2 out of the 4 figures you bought be an "acceptable" standard. Don't cut them any slack.

I’ve been really flirting with getting into this line, as far as just the four Turtles ( Playmates TMNT hit the pegs right when I was ending collecting toys as a kid and I only had the four original Turtles and loved them). But that Michelangelo is a deal breaker. Way too shiny/glossy and really stands out next to Don and Leo (who look incredible btw). Whew! What a relief. I just saved myself hundreds of dollars 😅. Thanks for the awesome review!

This line is good, don't get it wrong. But I don't think you need all of them. I'm just going to try and get the ones that are the most deeply rooted in my nostalgia and were my favorite figures as a kid. Otherwise, yeah, it's a money pit.

I picked up Rocksteady and Metalhead from this wave and enjoy them both quite a bit. April just doesn't do it for me and I can ordered all four Turtles as a set from Super7. Ultimately, I'm not getting all these figures so even with skipping one I was happy with this wave.

The cheap/shiny plastic can be somewhat fixed using Krylon or Tamiya Color semi-gloss or matte clear oversprays. It stinks that we have to do this on such pricey figures, but sometimes it helps. Thanks for the honest review.

Hips were all super loose for me on every figure in this wave. Loose to the point where they can barely stand. Definitely a QC lapse this round.

I really liked these at the start and as figures they look great but my rocksteady can’t stand up because the hips are loose. So disappointing and sadly has put me off the line a bit.

I just got my Mikey and Metalhead yesterday (Rocksteady a few weeks ago), and the biggest mystery I want to know is how different is Mikey's shell back color compared to Leo and Raph? I have the v2 Raph and noticed his shell was different than my Leo's, so I am hoping Mikey's back is unique to him as well. I am moving soon so mine are all packed up, or else I would compare them myself. Sorry about your Rocksteady, hopefully you can get it fixed good as new

So I went back and dug out my Leo and Raph to check, and Mikey's shell is a different shade of dark green. The other thing I noticed was that my Mikey doesn't really appear that much glossier than the other 2, but his finger&toe nails were not painted

A good tip I use for removing the figure is to use scissors and cut and make several splits all over the plastic tray that way you can separate easier.

I had the same issue with my Rocksteady's horn coming off straight out of the package! I also had tiny little flecks of what I assume ate plastic debris from processing. Both not huge deals but still disappointing. Anyways, great review!

Sorry you were disappointed with yours Jay, I'm very happy with my wave 3 figures...I didn't get April, but I love the vintage Michelangelo head and the nunchuku with chains, Rocksteady looks amazing with Bebop and Metalhead is actually my favorite of the wave, I loved the vintage figure as a kid and mine just really pops for me, and I love the hand with the finger tentacle thing. Hopefully you'll like wave 4 better, I can't wait to complete the set of 4 turtles and Mondo Gecko is another all time favorite of mine!

I think there is a lot to like with this wave, and I’ll readily admit the bar was set super high by the first 2 waves for me. If I didn’t have the leg issues and qc issue with rocksteady I would have loved this wave as well. I still like the wave and am happy I have it.

I've considered doing some cherry picking on this line to get my favorite characters, like Raphael, April and Ace Duck. The cost however does make me a little gun shy on pulling that trigger though. On a side note, I actually prefer the metallic paint to vac metal on the figures.

I wish I could say for certain that Gorilla Glue won’t have any negative effect on the plastic, but I have no idea what specific type of plastic Super7 used. I guess the smart move is just to reach out to Super7 for a replacement.

My disappointment with these figures continues to be the loose legs. Of my three turtles, Bebop, and Rocksteady, all five of them are bobble-hips. It took a lot of work and modification to get Rocksteady to stand. I have a pretty high $#@! happens threshhold, so the horn coming off wouldn't bother me. Spot of loctite and you're good. But bobbly hips is something tougher to fix. I agree about Mikey's face, he's pretty deranged looking. It's still fun, just a different kind of fun.

Some lock tight gel superglue will fix that horn in no time. Mikey looks great but I do agree he is a bit shinny. I love the matt paint on the other Turtles. Still, I think Mikey is fine. I still love the figure even though there are some minor flaws.

These little things make it an unpleasant experience. I wonder if this wave was rushed. In the case of Rocksteady, perhaps the glue was not applied properly. You should contact Super7 and tell them.

This line is good in parts but mostly I’d rather just have the vintage figures. Some characters like Mutagen Man and Rocksteady don’t have enough flair to them and just seem like larger version of the vintage, I’ve had buyers recourse. This line is very expensive, plus the quality just isn’t there for me. I like some of the turtles and shredder and splinter, I’m really going to cherry pick more carefully

I appreciate that you’re honest in your reviews when you have criticisms. Too many toy channels are just hype and advertising for products, making them useless at informing people. I never noticed how small Rocksteady’s shield is, but now I can’t unsee it. I love this line but my one concern is the thin plastic pins attaching the legs to the hips on some of the figures (especially the turtles). They seem so fragile, like if they fell off the shelf the legs would snap off.

If the plastic is elastic enough they should be ok long term, but you’re right if they get ridged or brittle long term that could be a problem.

I was a bit underwhelmed by wave 3 as well, but a lot of that might have been character selection. I like these characters, but they're hardly my favorites. Rocksteady's horn was fine for me, but his hip joints were a bit loose--though all the other joints on the wave were fine. I was actually fine with Mikey's plastic finish--I thought he fit in with the other turtles well enough, but I agree that something about the color makes him feel more toyetic. The waxy finish on April's skin bothered me at first, but it looks much better out of package. Though I was kind of hoping Metalhead's plastic would've had more of a matte finish, like Rocksteady (who looks fantastic!). I love this line to death, but it does make me nervous that the plastic finishes are inconsistent. A lot of my all-time favorite characters are coming up in the next few waves, and I'm really hoping they look as good as possible!

I mean there was the talk about Mikey having a shiny apperance but every time I have seen April she looks like a Happy Meal toy. She is honestly the only figure that I am not interested in purchasing at all. I'm hoping that the new Ninja April they are supposedly releasing will look better.

I hate complaining, especially because so far I've loved these TMNT Ultimates from Super7, but I was really disappointed with this wave too. I had a ton of QC issues. All the hip joints on everyone are so loose, they can barely stand. Setting them on the shelf is a balancing act, combined with how top heavy Rocksteady and Metalhead are, it's an action figure nightmare. I thought I was going to love Rocksteady, because Bebop is my favorite from the entire collection as well. But his head seems about 15% too big, and his legs can't hold his weight. But April was by far the worst for me. Was anyone else's covered in oil or something? She's like a buttered roll. Slick and shiny as all heck. Her head sculpts are all way off the mark for me, and she came lubed. It's weird and I wish I didn't buy it. Mikey on the other hand was my favorite of the wave, which I was not expecting. His joints were strong, and stood way easier than the others.

@@GeekDadLife I think the biggest issue with her on MY end is that her colors feel REALLY flat compared to the turtles. The lack of texture in her jumpsuit makes her pop out compared to them in a not so positive way. My issues with Metalhead is I wish they would’ve just used hard plastic for the carapace so they could’ve chromed it like the original. And the tubes on the back of the legs will get quickly damaged, and hinders it’s already limited articulation. Wish they would’ve rethought that choice.
