After seeing so many issues with this wave I hope you and others in the KZbin toy community press Brian on this. I have now canceled all my Super 7 preorders until full reviews are up for each one as I am not taking chances anymore. I just got two SDCC GIJOE BATS and both had heads so loose they couldn't even hold their heads up. I managed to use some tacky to make it tighter, but this cannot continue, not for $55 a figure.

Same for me. Cancelled the rest of my my tmnt preorders. All 14 of mine so far have lose joints and my BAT’s head is a bobble as well. At this point it feels disrespectful for them to charge a premium and give us this crap.

And you can call yourselves lucky paying only 55$ per figure. In Europe, they charge up to 100€ for a regular S7 figure nowadays. The cheapest stores have them are around 85€. Crazy.

Yeah I'm not paying full price for these anymore. 45 to 55 a figs and all these issues. Meanwhile they are floating on amazon for cheaper prices.

Yeah AND we paid for and pre-ordered this wave in late MAY of 2021. It's taken them a year and 4 months to have figures with loose hips??? I just got a notification from Super7 on Friday saying Wave 6 arrived and will be shipping soon too so _hopefully_ the Wave 6 figures will not have these issues??

@@n_explosion8199 yeah, Super7 "shows" the Wave a year before its supposed to come out. So every Wave has a year wait time (preorder). This Wave was supposed to come out in March and now its September (6 months later).

@@n_explosion8199 Oh as serious as a heart attack. I just checked my e-mail receipt from Super7 and I pre-ordered them on Tue, May 25, 2021. I gave them a $125.60 for Leatherhead & Ray Fillet, so when I get them I hope they're not crappy. Oh I hope the next weave is better too. I ordered Scratch from Wave 6 on September 28th 2021, so that wave is just about a year out from the time I ordered it, and I have no idea what they'll be like either. Needless to say? I won't be pre-ordering Ultimates from them anymore, it just takes WAY to long and if there are loose hip issues on a figure that takes almost a year and a half to go from concept to finished product? That's a little bananas.

I just sent back my sdcc exclusive gi joe bats. Super loose joints. Very disappointed. My turtles to this point are perfect but I am done with super7. Way to expensive to gamble on weather your fig will have loose joints or not.

Super7 has roughly 100 figures in preorder status currently. 100 figures across multiple lines that they have taken money for in advance... and they still aren’t fixing the loose hips 5 waves in on TMNT. They likely won’t address it and just keep taking preorder money instead. Pretty sad state of affairs. I am sticking with TMNT because I love those old figures... but I just cancelled every other line I had on preorder. Until they can show they are working on this stuff, I gotta start speaking with my dollars.

A partial refund or something would be better. A loose joint is much easier to fix than a tight joint and far less likely to damage the plastic.

Still weird that in the 80's Leatherhead was a part of the bad guys when in 2003 and 2012 he is a part of the good guys. So weird. It boggles my mind.

@@gunsharck Leatherhead was mostly an ally in the original Mirage comics and he was a straight up hero in Archie Comics. It's actually only Playmates and the arcade games that he's a villain.

I don't collect Ultimates really but I wanted Leatherhead to use with my vintage Playmates TMNT toys. Why? Because on the vintage toy's Bio card it lists his size at being 12 ft long, and this figure will mote closely match that size and scale with the vintage figures. It bums me out that this Wave has had so many hip issues, I hope Wave 6 isn't this way. Also blows my mind they they made the pre-order for this back in May of 2021 and they _still_ have issues. You'd think they could have kept the QC tighter on toys that took 16 months to make.

You can slide the piece back & forth on the barrel of his gun like he’s cocking it. Great looking figure. Love they made him bigger than the og was. Always one of my favorite toys and characters but always preferred his toon version. And I get an alligator has short limbs and while a big animal wouldn’t be very tall if it stood. But he’s a mutant so I preferred him hulking like all the other iterations of him. Glad the ultimates are making them a little more scale with some characters being bigger than others. This version I must say does represent what the og figure was trying to, alligators aren’t tall but they are very big bodied. Can’t say I like the all red accessories but I get it. And they do look like tobacco but think they may be feathers. The shotgun and rod are great! The rod could be used in other displays too

This is awesome I just noticed the original Leatherhead one does the stand too and it actually stands better if you put him upright but his head doesn’t bend down so he looks like he is looking up laughing at something but I love the leatherhead figure

Great review! The one I was looking forward too. Leatherhead is one of my favorites, and patiently waiting for my preorder to ship from BBTS. But, ironically…. Hey Pixel Dan I’m creating the first Masters of The Universe character who has autism. His name is Geldar and he will be portrayed as a shy but smart oni-like character who helps He-Man and his friends defend Castle Grayskull from Skeletor and trying to understand the people of Eternia the meaning of autism. And according to my mind Geldar was born sometime in April which is Autism Awareness Month. I may even write a letter to Mattel to try and make an action figure of Geldar for their Masters of The Universe Origins line.

Mine came in the mail yesterday. Outside of a few paint job issues I can happily say that My can do the crouch and do the original pose like the old design with no trouble and is a wonderful figure I am happy I got :-)

Wow... just got mine today my his hips aren't nearly as bad as yours. I'm lucky (my Super7 loose hips hall of shame are Grune and Rocksteady). My critique on this figure is that he's way too light on paint. No wash or drybrushing at all on his skin, jeans, or boots is a drag. The mouth looks terrible being all pink. The tongue and the rest of the mouth should be different colors.

@@TheMattTrakker Eh, they're mountains above Masterverse figures, which are the only $20 figures I look at with any regularity. Of course I'd prefer them to be cheaper, but for the amount I buy, I don't think they're too much.

The only Super 7 Turtles figure I have is Donnie and his hips are ridiculously loose as well. Kinda unforgivable for that price tag, no matter how great it looks.

It's odd to me that most of his accessories are just solid red. The turtle and the leaves in particular stand out as being unpainted. I would expect that from Playmates, not Super7.

@@philstewart345 Right, but previous releases in this line (like Baxter Stockman) put the effort in to paint all of the accessories to show off just how much detail was there. They didn't put as much effort here, which is a shame.

@@TightPantsJack I've been noticing Super7 doing this with each new wave. Each wave has less and less paint, and they're even getting rid of the weapon racks. I still really like the figures, but it's disappointing that they're cheapening out on paint and accessories, despite the price getting higher. It's making me get much pickier about which figures to get, even though I started out going all in on this line.

I think the "leaves" are supposed to be dried hot peppers, the turtle is supposed to be covered in Cajun spice, and the crustacean is meant to be already cooked, which is why they're all red. Personally, I'm thinking of putting a black wash on the peppers, adding black eyes to the mudbug, and lightening up the turtle, because MY Cajun spice blend is more of a dusty orange colour . . . .

Great review! Thank you! Aw, yeah, this is my guy! It's weird about the hip joints. I've heard a lot of complaints about them, but some reviewers have gotten figures with pretty decent hip joints. As for getting him in his "original figure" pose, might it help if you bend his knees and then swing his legs forward, closer to his center of balance, which is thrown off by that gigantic leathern noggin of his?

A real shame, that here Super Seven fails miserably again, its horrible weak joints and on top of that the unforgivable, how they make it so small in size when Leaterhead has to be twice as big. A very big disappointment S7 good video Pixel Dan regards 👏🏻🇦🇷

Some of the figures in the original Playmates line were inspired by the cartoon looks, but many of them weren't even close to 100% accurate. Then you has figures like Pizza Face who looked nothing like the cartoon version.

The toys were almost always designed first, then simplified for animation, or they were rushed for time and used the prototype designs before the figure was made, which is why I think "cartoon-accurate" is one of the biggest possible contradiction in terms.
