Let’s be real, after years of exciting but frustrating/twisted narratives and missed opportunities, Tyson, AJ and Wilder now belong to a has-been era- whose storyline was torn up by the introduction of Usyk who became the unexpected “one face, one champion” that we all demanded from that period of heavyweight boxing. These fighters ignited the heavyweight division until the new generational talents were ready to take over, timed perfectly with the introduction of Saudi money to make the big fights happen. Now it only makes sense they make plans for permanent retirement. Fury may well now settle for coming up second best to arguably the best P4P fighter we’ve seen in a long time, while clutching onto claims of controversy. At the very least he just needs the dust to settle from back to back losses and to take stock before fully closing curtains. Saying that, I believe he knows he ultimately can’t walk away from the AJ fight, which he himself has claimed numerous times NEEDS to happen. Personally, I fancy AJ-Wilder fight as a legacy fight and final payday for Wilder, who has speculated a return to the ring. An AJ win (if he does) might then ignite a Fury return for the final throw down. Who knows though 😅🤷‍♂️
