*This battery reconditioning program exceeded my presumptions. It worked on any drill battery, several AA and AAA batteries, **batery.repair** and any camera battery. The steps are simple and the act itself is exciting to do. No matter what type of battery you`ve got, it is sure to function again!*

Hello Brother. Today I met your channel. With a quick look at the videos you made, of course, I only looked at the type of things you did to see your videos later. You got a big like for the hard work you have done and continue to do. I have good wishes for you. Always be healthy and happy and successful. Yours sincerely

Some of the protection boards set a register on an eprom and permanently disable the pack under thermal over heating conditions.

Charge all the batteries individually by some other means. And then connect them the way they were connected to the BMS board. There are 2 ways to enable the battery circuit. 1. Connect the 12volt battery terminal to the actual +ve port on the laptop battery connector. It should enable the circuit. If not try the next step. 2. Keeping the negative probe of the multimeter on the battery pack negative terminal. Check all the pins for some kind of voltage which should be within 1.5 to 5 volts. If found any. Just ground that pin and the battery pack should start powering up.

Mads put the batteries from the failed pack into the original pack and see if that will revive the original pack. Or put the original pack controller board into the failed pack. Nothing lasts forever.
@seeindarkness10 жыл бұрын
The circuitry of the battery should be pretty simple a microcontroller to handle charging and protection some fuses, mosfets and a voltage regulator for the micro. except for checking for voltages and mosfets, what else can you do ?

So, a battery indeed has a controller which disconnects it from Power Source to prevent over-charging. What's the harm in leaving the computer connected with power supply for a longtime even after the battery is completely charged ?
@TheAmmoniacal10 жыл бұрын
There is no harm in leaving your computer connected to the charger for a long time, it all comes down to the life expectancy of your battery. According to "experts" the optimal long-term storing charge for a lithium battery is about 70%, this will give your battery the longest life span. This optimum life span will decline somewhat at both higher and lower charge levels, leaving your charger in the laptop will maintain a 90-100% charge. But unplugging and plugging in your charger to stay at 70% is really not a practical option, and the manufacturer of the laptop don't want you to run off with just 70% charge. So just leave it in :)

Maybe you should change the title - the title implies that "you" failed taking the battery pack apart, like something went wrong (caught fire when opening case etc.) Did you check the chemical fuse ? It's probably the MCU that blew the fuse intentionally to protect the cells from overcharge.

***** I didn't get that impression. I felt that the title described the video just fine.

+tombell12 Yeah, I never found out. Perhaps overcharge, the battery got very hot in the computer but cooled right down after I tossed it out in the garage :/
@Metal-Possum8 жыл бұрын
+tombell12 I've heard of BMS firmware having a limited number of cycles programmed into it, as an excuse to force users to replace the battery every once in a while. Lithium ion batteries usually provide at least 3 years of use, sometimes upwards of 5-8 years. Laptop batteries suspiciously always fail earlier than later.
