Given how quickly it happened, it’s likely the ballon just slipped from the kid’s hand. Number one rule I was taught when I first started riding lessons was NEVER SNEAK UP BEHIND A HORSE! Always let it know your coming with a gentle pat. The second the ballon booped the butt, that was it. The horse couldn’t see it, he just knew it was there and it wouldn’t leave. Luckily no one was injured and the horse was well taken care of.

The lady from across the street works there, management of some kind. So does the man you call “the husband” - was she still stupid? Yeah. But she’s a cast member so it’s what she thought she should do. That Merida is a GRAEAT rider. This was an unfortunate accident. The dad was keeping his toddler from running out into the parade route, this wasn’t done on purpose. He grabbed the child and the balloon slipped and kept going. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

Ppl have no common sense. U don’t go to theme park with a badge and walkie to just have one on. I’ve found that ppl like the narrator has nothing intelligent to say so they call them stupid. U find a lot of name calling because ppl don’t actually think about what’s happening. But anyway the rider has to be a seasoned rider or just picked the right time to bail. She waited till the horse had a moment of calmness and got off and out of the way. Those ladies never panicked and probably saved a life or at least the horse injuring itself. I’d like to see how they got the balloon off tho

He was ok, just a little shaken. And on the brighter side The more situations horses have like this, where in the end they didn’t get hurt, the more acclimatized they become and the less things frighten or spook them. The balloon didn’t eat him or bite him or sting… it just popped like a stupid balloon, and and despite the quick fright, he’ll remember it wasn’t a danger to him. Horses are smart like that, next time he’ll react much less if at all

@@apollotheshire I'm reminded of this horse book I read as a teenager, where the guy deliberately would you know flap things near the horse he was taming it was a cow horse, drag along the ground around it and stuff to desensitize it to such weird happenings. Eventually a blanket being dragged between the horse's feet wouldn't even spook it. It would probably be very stressful and some people would think of me mean to do it these days, but it seems like a good idea for a horse intended for parades.

From what I read about this the woman is actually a cast member. They basically have teams watching for security and safety and events jsut like this. The rider did a fantastic job and safely dismounted and the handlers settled him nicely. The woman is a staff member (if she wasn't I have no doubt other staff would have been telling her to back the hell off ;) Disney doesn't mess around lol Overall, horses are animals and react sometimes, this incident was very well handledA
@corgiw7281
@corgiw7281 2 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with the people (mostly Jenn M.) who say the woman in the red-pink shirt is staff - watch her from the first point where she's visible, she's pacing the parade, not spectating. She's not carrying bags like a visitor would for shopping, her hands are free. The man wasn't reacting like someone upset, but makes hand-signals that suggests handling responsibility for the incident, or what action to take. Also, his walkie. ;) Assumptions!

I don't believe the family was negligent here at all. Like he said, things happen, especially when you have children. Mix children and live animals together, and "things happen." They seemed to have it under control pretty well. On another note, I don't think it helped that that lady went running out there like that. She could've caused this to get way out of control because the horse doesn't know her, and she, most likely, is not a equine vet or professional at all. Disney has their own people and runs things like a well-oiled machine. Stay out of their way, lol.

Laniards are a big thing at Disney, people collect them. Disney releases new pins every year, month, even certain days. They become extremely rare, Some pins and laniards are worth 10’s of thousands. Horses are kind of funny like that, spook at really random things. There is a joke in the equestrian world that nothing is more terrifying that a plastic grocery bag floating in the wind. Almost all horses freak about that. It was just bad luck and your right… he thinks or imagines it could be some prey at his heals. If he’d been out to pasture, it would have been a two second ordeal and then He would have been like… “no worries” and kept eating and farting. But on Main Street at Disneyland with a princess on his back and crowds… it’s pretty dangerous. I assure you angus was fine.

Not that I would EVER give the Disney corp ANY of my money but if I was there I would have to ask myself this: Which is more cost effective? Large costly lawsuits for all the people seeing the horse either trample people causing blood and screaming. Or large costly lawsuits from all the people who see the horse fall and injure itself causing blood and mayhem. Or not selling the ghastly balloons. Profit margin be damned and don't sell balloons that kill wildlife on land and in the ocean. For a corporation that fronts itself as "all caring" about the environment you would think they would see their way clear to NOT sell deadly balloons, wouldn't you. But the only thing that takes them into profitability is the sale of those darn balloons. I guess I can't expect the most corrupting corporation in the nation to stop with the balloons until they do spill blood and brain matter on the streets of the happiest place on earth, right?

@@pjarman8874 Do they not have balloons in England? This shire horse gets the best of care. The Disney stables are renowned for how well they care for their animals. This is just unfortunate accident is all. Also, in the early 1900’s 100,000 shire horses were taken and slaughtered every year in England after the advent of the tractor. To the point of near extinction. Since then there have been many American breeders who love the shire horse that have dedicated their lives to propagating and strengthening what is a dying breed. They have been a major part in saving the breed from falling into history. Currently there is double the amount of shire horses in America than In England. 3000 in the USA and said to be 1500 in England. My shire Apollo who I love and is very well cared for (see my channel) comes from one of these American breeders. The person filming was a customer of the park, not an employee. It was not their resonsiblity to handle the situation, and trying to help would have made the situation worse, and gotten themselves or someone else hurt. Bursting the Ballon would have been the apsolute worst thing they could have done. Horses are incredibly flighty animals, even trained ones are. It was already panicking about the ballon, popping it would have sent it bolting with the loud noise, and a true bolting horse is in full flight mode, this makes them extremely dangrous to people and to themselves, and they are difficult to catch and calm down again. And if everyone, a lot of strangers that the horse didn't know, tried to swarm in to get the ballon from it or to "Help", this would have also panicked the horse more than it was, and it would have hurt someone. The eployees, people that the horse very likely knew and trusted, calmed it down, stopped it from bolting and bucking which prevented it from hurting itself and others. When it is completely calm they could then safely remove the ballon, which they were fully aware of. No one was blind in this situation.

@@bellarose1400 I have been around horses. But not a shire horse I will admit, and I will take your word that they are gentle giants. However even though it is gentle. It would still have been a bad idea for the customer filming to get involved, it wasn't their business or their responsibility, so there is no reason to be mad at them filming rather than helping. And still safer for them to stop the horse moving before going going for balloon, I do know that shires are very heavy animals. If it was not likely to bolt as you say, it could have still stepped on someone in that state, even by accident. If these horses are bomb proof, then he would have been fine being a show horse in Disney land. They take very good care of their animals. This incident was a freak accident, nothing more. The true corrupt companies are horse sports like racing or jumping. People in those sports do abuse the animals sadly.

I don't think they were unaware. But I think in this situation the best thing to do is to calm the animal. Getting close to a spooked horses Rear hooves seems plain dangerous. And then the horse is having a balloon AND a person chasing behind them.

The loud pop of the balloon could have made the horse freak out more.

Horses are smart like that, next time he’ll react much less if at all.

Two friends of mine are stuntmen and great horse riders: Their horses are educated for these situations and even worse. Anything can fly around them, buzz/touch their legs, you can hang them from a helicopter, the horses don't go berserk like this. Dangerous situation as you have kids around. Well, this is Disney. They don't pay. What to expect? People also are injured in their 'park'. (edit: my frenglish)

It's humans fault for using animals as part of their god given vanity. Let's eat some fish because they don't have any feelings.

Fish do have feelings though!! They’re all sorts of personable and goofy, anyone who’s ever kept fish will tell you. They recognise their people and will try to get their attention when they’re hungry. Some fish like blood parrot cichlids and Oscars even like to be pet and played with.
