Given how quickly it happened, it’s likely the ballon just slipped from the kid’s hand. Number one rule I was taught when I first started riding lessons was NEVER SNEAK UP BEHIND A HORSE! Always let it know your coming with a gentle pat. The second the ballon booped the butt, that was it. The horse couldn’t see it, he just knew it was there and it wouldn’t leave. Luckily no one was injured and the horse was well taken care of.

The dad was keeping his toddler from running out into the parade route, this wasn’t done on purpose. He grabbed the child and the balloon slipped and kept going. Thankfully nobody was hurt.

Eventually a blanket being dragged between the horse's feet wouldn't even spook it. It would probably be very stressful and some people would think of me mean to do it these days, but it seems like a good idea for a horse intended for parades.

From what I read about this the woman is actually a cast member. They basically have teams watching for security and safety and events jsut like this. The rider did a fantastic job and safely dismounted and the handlers settled him nicely. The woman is a staff member (if she wasn't I have no doubt other staff would have been telling her to back the hell off ;) Disney doesn't mess around lol Overall, horses are animals and react sometimes, this incident was very well handledA
@corgiw72812 жыл бұрын
I have to agree with the people (mostly Jenn M.) who say the woman in the red-pink shirt is staff - watch her from the first point where she's visible, she's pacing the parade, not spectating. She's not carrying bags like a visitor would for shopping, her hands are free. The man wasn't reacting like someone upset, but makes hand-signals that suggests handling responsibility for the incident, or what action to take. Also, his walkie. ;) Assumptions!

I don't believe the family was negligent here at all. Like he said, things happen, especially when you have children. Mix children and live animals together, and "things happen." They seemed to have it under control pretty well. On another note, I don't think it helped that that lady went running out there like that. She could've caused this to get way out of control because the horse doesn't know her, and she, most likely, is not a equine vet or professional at all. Disney has their own people and runs things like a well-oiled machine. Stay out of their way, lol.

Large costly lawsuits for all the people seeing the horse either trample people causing blood and screaming. Or large costly lawsuits from all the people who see the horse fall and injure itself causing blood and mayhem. Or not selling the ghastly balloons. Profit margin be damned and don't sell balloons that kill wildlife on land and in the ocean. For a corporation that fronts itself as "all caring" about the environment you would think they would see their way clear to NOT sell deadly balloons, wouldn't you. The person filming was a customer of the park, not an employee. It was not their resonsiblity to handle the situation, and trying to help would have made the situation worse, and gotten themselves or someone else hurt. Bursting the Ballon would have been the apsolute worst thing they could have done. Horses are incredibly flighty animals, even trained ones are. It was already panicking about the ballon, popping it would have sent it bolting with the loud noise, and a true bolting horse is in full flight mode, this makes them extremely dangrous to people and to themselves, and they are difficult to catch and calm down again. And if everyone, a lot of strangers that the horse didn't know, tried to swarm in to get the ballon from it or to "Help", this would have also panicked the horse more than it was, and it would have hurt someone. The eployees, people that the horse very likely knew and trusted, calmed it down, stopped it from bolting and bucking which prevented it from hurting itself and others. When it is completely calm they could then safely remove the ballon, which they were fully aware of. No one was blind in this situation.

It would still have been a bad idea for the customer filming to get involved, it wasn't their business or their responsibility, so there is no reason to be mad at them filming rather than helping. And still safer for them to stop the horse moving before going going for balloon, I do know that shires are very heavy animals. If it was not likely to bolt as you say, it could have still stepped on someone in that state, even by accident. If these horses are bomb proof, then he would have been fine being a show horse in Disney land. They take very good care of their animals. This incident was a freak accident, nothing more.
