I’ve seen a bunch of drafthorse auctions in the US but I can’t recall seeing a single Shire for sale. Are they just that rare in the US?

Great to watch you with David coaching. Our dressage club had him as a clinician in the past, here in Cody, WY. I rode with him quite a bit then. My dressage instructor and I watched your video with great interest, since we have a new dressage student who is starting with a 3 1/2 year old Shire!! She has had no previous riding instruction, but she grew up on horses - always bareback, so she has a great seat and sense of balance! Her boy, is like a big Baby Huey, falling through his shoulders, not in front of the leg…etc., etc. Apollo’s nice performance in this video says “it can be done! “ Thanks for sharing.

Just found your video and watched it and quite frankly fell in love with this amazing and most STUNNING horse!❤🐴 Apollo is such a lovely horse and has truly been through the ropes of "The Life and times of a MOST EXQUISITE horse" (if there was to be a book about him it could be named that). It's so wonderful that you have been involved 100% of the way of helping Apollo's get his life back due to how he was physically from the get-go as compared to how AMAZING he is NOW! WOW🙋♀️ What an incredible horse! You truly gave Apollo the gift of love🐴🥰🖤💝

Beautiful to see the transformation. I missed something - I understand about fasting as a therapy, having used it myself. Why was Apollo put on (a "starvation"?) diet shortly after you acquired him?

He is just gorgeous and happy as can be and you can see it in his demeanor and he’s very thankful for you and obviously he’s winning you lots of ribbons as well. He is a champ!!!

The shots of Apollo running and jumping free in pure fun, whilst chasing you around the paddock shows you are not abusing/hurting/mistreating him. If you did the would move away, not towards you. If only other people would be considerate to animals. Thank you.

Where are you and Apollo? Have not seen you two for a while😊
@kellimartin358317 күн бұрын
This is a wonderful thing you have done for this animal. He is so beautiful and graceful. But $500 to trim a horse's hooves?? I get it that he's big, and that you probably have to have a specialized farrier, but daaaang that is re-dikalous!! Either I have been out of the horse business too long or that farrier is taking you for a ride.
@apollotheshire17 күн бұрын
@@kellimartin3583 it’s not $500 for a trim, it’s $500 for 4 new shoes. Still crazy expensive.
@apollotheshire17 күн бұрын
What’s more expensive is paying a less experienced farrier and then Apollo gets sore. Nothing is more expensive than an injured horse on bed rest
@kellimartin358317 күн бұрын
@@apollotheshire I get that, but the greed that is oozing out of those farrier's is sickening. They wouldn't make it in my part of the country, specialized or not. Ridiculous.

Why did they shave their tails?
@apollotheshire25 күн бұрын
@@CharleneSmith-d7w draft horses are traditionally used for pulling work, that involves a lot of rigging and tack, those are things that could get tangled with a horse’s tail. That could injure the horse or spook him sending him dangerous running with a wagon behind like a wrecking ball. It’s for the safety of the horse and the safety of the drivers.

This was truly an ugly duckling story in the most profound way and I'm in total AWE of how GOD brought the two of you to be together: closing the barn door on your first horse to open the tailgate for your second to enter, and that once he arrived, your love took the reins. GOD bless you and your horse; bringing you years of great happiness and Apollo big carrots.

That little shit of a kid threw the balloon weight at the horse. His dad tried to stop him. They put weights on the balloons to stop them getting lost, but then it gives the kid something to throw.
