Good luck on your treatment, I have CLL and understand...this is a great show, unless Mike gets on his rants on how the problem is Avery, Blair, etc, instead of himself. Lincoln needs a bark collar. God's speed on your recovery.

Tremendous amount of work, add in videography, editing and uploading. Those that know give a nod, those that don't give thumbs down and useless negative comments. They all have an opportunity to start their own channel and see what its like.

You need to get a Diablo brand metal cutting blade for your skill saw and the cutoff saw. You'll love the way they cut and the speed of the cuts. I was shocked at how good they work.

Gonna tell ya right now, that is ONE SEXY RAKE ON THAT CAR!! Your car has the stance I WILL HAVE on my 53 F100 Ford pick up. Some carsand trucks can pull off a front end rake and ours do it FLAWLESSLY!!! Your father would be PROUD to see the love you spent on his car. I pray my dad sees the same on our first vehicle we ever built together. I am taking a ton of knowledge from this hannel to build what we would have wanted. I'm here, and I will watch the next 20 episodes if it's with this car. I'm happy. I am learning more then you are teaching. You need a permanent TV show or something along those lines.

I generally try to mount my rear calipers around the 9-10 o’clock position drivers side and 2-3 o’clock passenger. The way I visualize it is the rotor turning down into the pads in forward motion so when the brakes squeeze that rotor, it’ll force the rear of the car to “squat” and help dig in the rear. Up front, opposite concept (3 driver’s, 9 passenger’s) so the front will not “dive” the nose and keep the front end biasing slightly upward - the combination of both fights to keep the car as level as possible to the road under hard braking. Got the idea after working on various BMW’s over the years and theirs are generally setup like that. I know these comments come after-the-fact when you’ve already done your fab work but I thought I’d share the concept with you and others in case you all find it useful.

In rigging classes back into the 1990’s, we were cautioned about using any Chy-knees hardware. Their metallurgy is sub-standard and does not give signs of impending failure…….which is just fancy talk that the metal is brittle…..and doesn’t deform before failing. One thing that may be contributing to that particular failure may be the sharp threads. A small crack will propagate through the system to lead to a catastrophic failure.

Cheaply made auto parts are becoming a serious issue, especially over the past few years. Lately i bought a set of aftermarket ball joints that completely stripped out before hitting the recommend torque spec, it was absolutely ridiculous, one time i even bought a set of U bolts that said right on the back of the box what their specific torque spec was and they also stripped out at half of the torque that they called for, i ended up getting a used set from the junkyard instead. A ton of other parts have been defective or totally broken right out of the box and modern day rubber and plastic components seem to only lats a few months before dry rotting and cracking. Nothing is made with quality or pride anymore.

Don't give up, Chad! Definitely lucky that MLS hit when it did- instead of while you were going down the highway! Just a thought, what about making new arms out of c-channel, similar to what comes from the "factory." That way, any flex is distributed across the entirety of the part instead of "failure testing" the connection points.
