This ride was the best, the dated sci-fi/horror aesthetic in the line was so much fun, and then the ride itself was pretty cool too. The air conditioning was also a huge reason I enjoyed it

@@more_bumps_ahead I am a MK ULTRA AND IN THE STATE OF OHIO V DAVIDCANTRALL WAS THE CHILDSTARWITNESS< THIS WAS A SPY BRAINWASING CENTER. The nazis used roller coasters to electrocute Jews and told them it was a ride just like the showers. Not all died just those selected for biological experimentation or resurrection. Therotor is another fun story

Not gonna lie, I loved this ride as a kid. It was air conditioned and never had a line. When I needed to cool off we rode this about 7 times and then went back out to finish our day with the bigger rides. Plus the fried cheese stand was right by the building.

Omfg the fried cheese dude, two kinds of cheese cooked like a corn dog only twice as thick as a corn dog, oh my GOD dude it's SO GOOD!

I know I am in the minority, but I loved this ride when I rode it a couple times in May 2001. I was 28 at the time and travelled to CP from Australia with my BFF. It felt faster than any other bobsled cause of the dark indoor setting. Plus it was a relief as it was a hot end of spring day. I think actually it may have been early June, but I do know we landed in the USA on May 11th and started in California and it was an epic road trip, all the way to Florida then all the way up the East coast then once we did SFGA we started going west, doing all the parks in PA that were just opening their seasons and we ended at CP and Six Flags Geauga Lake. Very memorable trip, especially cause we got almost 30 back to back rides on Apollo's Chariot in the very back row on a quiet day at BGW. But yeah I was sad to see Disaster Transport go as I like indoor coasters and it was the only indoor bobsled I think? Next year I finally get back to Cedar Point, but I've been to CA and Florida many times since then, I just never made it back to PA or Ohio. Looking forward to it!

I miss this ride so much! As a kid, I wasn't very inclined to ride the more intense coasters. So I'd ride this, Iron Dragon, Mine Ride and Woodstock Express all day, lol. Rode DT several times 2 days before it closed for good, and when I walked out of the building after the last ride, it sort of felt like saying goodbye to a friend or moving out of a place you've lived a long time. Bummer there isn't a POV video that remotely does justice to what actually riding it was like, but some of the inside pictures and videos I hadn't seen yet and it took me right back to 12+ years ago! Nice documentary!

Would be super awesome if they paid homage to this ride on a future attraction by building a new modern indoor coaster and using the name.

the AC was a nice respite from the hot weather. also it only had a 42 inch ride height so younger kids could ride it

This video randomly popped up.. I can tell you, as a former night shift security officer at CP from 2002-2005, the ride building was used as a haunted house, which was decorated year round and storage. The original drag racer tires from TTD were stored in disaster transport. I've been through every room, climbed every ladder, and even walked the track itself when the park was closed. As much of a conspiracy theorist that I am, there were no secret society rituals there.. or even any room for it! 😂
