Brian, I’m sorry about the loss of Sangria’s clutch. It has to be so hard. When it happens, she’ll surely have some beautiful babies. Eli, you have to be soo strong! That is the biggest bass I’ve ever seen! How exciting! Bella, you are growing so much. My goodness, I remember when you were born. You seem to love fishing too. I loved fishing at your age. I still do. Now I love snorkeling. Bless you all. Take care. Staysea. 🦋

Sorry to hear about the clutch but way to go Eli!!!! So cool to see kids loving the outdoors and seeing them just light up when they catch a big fish.

It’s unfortunate that you lost the whole clutch. That said I love the idea of letting them lay as close to the wild as possible. Love you videos!

Sorry to see what happened to her eggs brother. I've thought about trying maternal incubation for a clutch just to have that experience. Awesome watching the kids fishing!!! That bass!!! WOW!!!

Sorry B! That’s a real bummer. I think it’s worth trying again with a lay box. If you never try you never know 🤷♂️. But after this pain, I wouldn’t blame you for going with the tried and true method.

Howdy! I’ve experienced maternal incubation in Diamond pythons, Stimson’s pythons, Angolan pythons and ball pythons. Most of the time, I have very good success. The times I haven’t have been when the snake laid the clutch on belly heat. I agree, a tighter space would make sense and I prefer ambient heat or overhead light in part of the enclosure for part of the day. I’m thinking of trying it with SSTP this coming season.

Dang those are some sick babies!!!! Stunning combos!!! I've tried 2x letting the mind keep eggs and both times the mom's ended up squeezing and popping an egg which ended up leaking on the other eggs and despite my best efforts to save the remaining eggs, they ultimately died not long after it happened. I really want to do it though. I'm going to try changing to aspen so they can nest easier but IDK if that was even a factor ?? I'll have to pick your brain about how you do it successfully. Super interested to do it!

I did use a hide box and I tried several times back in the late 90s most of the information I had had told me to use hide boxes with Spagna Moss and substrate. I did this with Ball pythons out of the four times I did it. I only had one survivor unfortunately I did try hide boxes made of different things, first plywood then I tried plastic and when I had success, not that it was much was out of box built out of one by which is solid wood with just a couple holes I’m sorry that’s all I got for you. I never had great luck, but it could be that I live in a different climate than you so you may have better luck and best of luck to you!

Some stunning ball pythons you have there! Sorry about Sangria's eggs. I would personally opt for artificial incubation next season, and then the next season try a lay box. Well done Eli on the big bass!! Enjoy the expo. So wish you could come to SA. Maybe get FB to send you 😝🤪 One can hope...

Only tried maternal incubation couple times and it only came with issues eggs being rolled problems with himidity fungus temp issues etc. Never lost an egg artificially intubating so don't think I'll ever go back. And really enjoy that my females get back on food much earlier typically that was as well. Also be careful in st Louis!! There is some really rough areas stay in downtown!😂

I would try a nesting box with some dampened sphagnum moss. I do maternal incubation with my dwarf Burmese pythons with a nest box and have a fairly high hatch rate.

I bred my male Black pastel pied to my het female. She laid six good eggs. The first one hatched out and had twin pandas both did not make it. The other four have hatched and I got another panda and three bp pieds. 3 pandas out of 6 egss but this may be my last time to do maternal incubation - it took 76 days to hatch.
