Q: Do you own Disbelief Hardmode?
A: The concept of Disbelief Hardmode wasn't made by me and has many other variations. By saying Disbelief Hardmode is made by me, I'm referring to the animation, not the concept.
Q: Is this an animation?
A: Yes, this video is an animation.
Q: Can I make a reaction video for this animation or use some footage of this animation in my video?
A: Yes, all I want is at the very least credits. I'd appreciate it if you could also credit the creators of the sprites and music that play during the used footage too.
Q: Can I make a translated version of the video?
A: Sure! Just be sure to credit everything properly.
Q: Can I turn this animation into a game?
A: Yes, you don't need my permission (only credits). For access to the sprites, you need permission from the sprite artist who goes by TAD7 (their Discord is linked on their KZbin account).
Q: What's up with the sprites?
A: TAD7 made them all, and I edited all of them accordingly. I'm grateful to TAD7 for granting me permission to use their sprites for this animation all those years ago.
Q: Can Papyrus be spared?
A: Yes, but the only footage for a spare ending is from Phase 4. • Disbelief Papyrus Hard...
Q: How did you create this?
A: I created DISBELIEF HARDMODE on Adobe Premiere Pro. To make my future content even better, I plan on switching to Adobe After Effects.
Q: How long did it take to make this animation?
A: That's a tough question. I first started creating Disbelief Hardmode with Phase 2 on May 2021, but decided to "quit" animating due to personal reasons. After a year, I decided to start animating again and I finished Phase 2. Many months later I decided that I would finish Disbelief Hardmode, with Phase 1 releasing January 1st, 2023. I was unfortunately busy with more important projects at the time, so I took many breaks while completing Phase 3 and 4. Much of my time was spent remastering the phases since they no longer met the standard I had now. After 3 years and many, many breaks, I finally finished Disbelief Hardmode.
Q: What is your inspiration for Disbelief Hardmode?
A: I've always wanted to make something absurd; this animation is a reflection of my will to achieve that.
Q: What were your inspirations in the animation?
A: I was inspired by the Disbelief Papyrus animation by Flamesatgames (obviously). The section of Phase 1 with the skull was inspired by Fehn's Hatred III OST Video • 「Disbelief Hard Mode」 ... . Phase 3 was inspired by MisterKaze Presents's OST Video for Disbelief Hardmode • [Undertale] DISBELIEF ... . Phase 5 was heavily inspired by my old animations of Phase 5: • [OLD] Disbelief Papyru... and • DISBELIEF PAPYRUS EXTE... , which is part of Disbelief Continued (another animation made by me).

Finally! A story that isn't just "papyrus full power" or "gaster makes him powerful because". The intro to the fight is just papyrus, he's been hurt and filled with anger, but he's still papyrus, and dealing with his feelings in a papyrus way. That's something I can really appreciate.

I love the hidden detail of Sans’s eye glows yellow and cyan, representing Justice, (Sans judges you, and gives you karma if you’ve slaughtered every monster you’ve come across,) and Patience, because he waited till the very end to learn as much as possible about you, and when it’s the right time to strike. Papyrus eye follows that logic, instead glowing orange and green, representing Bravery, because he is not letting his emotions completely cloud his judgement the entirety of the battle, giving you multiple opportunities to make things right, even at the danger of himself. And fighting you despite knowing that you’ll probably win. That, and Kindness. Because he’s still trying to show you trust and communication, hoping that he can still bring out any lingering goodness within your soul. Mirroring Sans, and giving you a different feeling of punishment. Sans makes you feel bad because you doubt your abilities, but he doesn’t care if you feel guilty anymore because it doesn’t matter. You are inexcusable. The only way to rectify your actions is through resetting and letting go of your Determination. Papyrus on the other hand makes you feel bad because he’s saying that you shouldn’t do this. That he’s protecting you from yourself. He knows you’re going to lose your soul, and that he can’t let you pass.

The soul movement is very "game" like. Like it's an actual person playing the game, usually in these kind of animations, the soul can either be too fast or too slow. Nailed it.

GUYS! before papyrus's bone breaks at the end of phase one, THE FLAVOUR TEXT SAYS DENIAL, the first stage of grief is denial! which means... phase 1: denial phase 2: anger phase 3: depression phase 4: bargaining phase 5: acceptance these are the stages of grief as papyrus greaves over the loss of his friends, phase 3 is depression because paprus misses his friends so much, that he uses his power to summon apparitions of sans and undyne, who were his only real friends. in other words, depression. edit: zerokay i need you to confirm if this theory is correct or not

Halfway through and I already wanna comment! The way you coordinated the patterns with the music was superb and I love the details like the bigger emphasis on orange attacks that distinguish Papyrus from Sans, the fact he still NEEDS to block in Phase 2 and how he limited himself from killing Frisk like hoe Asgore does when leaving you at 1 HP. The "out of the box" patterns are amazing too, kinda felt some Jevil vibes there and the way the blasts concealed the appearance of the crossed bones was cool as fuck. The dialogue could be better, but it gets the gist of what I think Papyrus character would be like if FORCED to act into the role of your final obstacle.

I love how how Papyrus doesn't even have Karma Actually, I always thought that it wasn't really in caratcher for him to have an orange glowing eye, after all, orange stands for bravery, wich has nothing to do with papyrus in particular While Sans's eye glows cyan and yellow because: Cyan stands for Patience, after all, he waits till the end, pretending to be just a lazy silly guy, without attacking you unless is really all that necessary While yellow stands for *juandice* wich is substance commonly found in moss after eating it

Papyrus is very brave, he understands that you have killed several ppl in the genocides runs, but he still tries to help you, that's why his er glows orange in phase 1. In phase 2 his eye glows yellow because he now understands that there is no fixing the human and goes full on sicko mode to serve them justice, an in phase 3 it glows yellow and blue because it's showing that papyrus has patience too.

I never thought color had anything to do with it, I honestly thought it would make sense for Papyrus to have a glowing eye if Sans did. It's just we never really had a reason to see it in the original game. Heck, he might not even know he has it.
