@@rubytrap3860 this is NOT how it happened. Basically, Cezar Andrade had joined the official Disbelief dev team. But after some time he stopped working regularly on the official game, and ended up releasing an UNOFFICIAL mod (the one that Merg plays in this video) created by literally stealing the assets of the official team that he had joined (and also, it strictly follows the official video of the owner of Disbelief, FlamesatGames, which means it's stealing the attack patterns, the music, and the sprites). Merg, aware of the conflict, made a Community post on his channel saying that he wouldn't play the unofficial stolen fangame. However, later, the official fangame's Gamejolt page was updated with a new dev log. Here's the relevant text, copied and pasted from Gamejolt: "There have been some misunderstandings about our policy on Disbelief fangames. Of COURSE we allow and encourage fangames that regard our project. It is thanks to the concept of fangames that we get to work on this at all. However, when our attack designs, artwork, dialogue or music are used without our permission, it becomes quite troubling for us. We have made some team decisions to work against projects that exist solely to replicate or undermine our work. Specifically, when a game claims to be an accurate copy of my animation (with my own original music featured), we have to take actions to work against content theft. I've received a lot of personal attacks on myself as an individual, for these collective team decisions. Only because it is among others, MY content that we are all trying to protect. By now, we've pretty much given up protecting our work, and we've had to realize that life is about more than being defensive about Undertale fan projects. We hope to only have friendly interactions with other Disbelief-inspired projects from here on out, and we are calling a truce with any projects that may feel we have been unreasonable." This clearly states that the official Disbelief team is not okay with Cezar's mod but they're over it and they just let it be. Merg, however, misinterprated this, and thought it was now okay to do a playthrough of Cezar's mod. Without asking the official team, he recorded and published that video. This caused a HUGE mess on the official Discord server, because Merg had really advertised the unofficial fangame (still labeling it as unofficial at least, but it still features stolen content), making the official game look bad in comparison (still not finished, few devlogs on GameJolt...) and causing many people to just go play the mod instead to stop waiting (which kinda makes the devs of the official game feel like they're working for nothing which is rough). However, the official team got over it since the video had still brought light onto the official game that Merg also gave credit to, and the mods did a great job at stopping the conversations and debates about the matter because it was becoming an "insult and shout at the others" competition. Devs were still sad that Merg kinda spoiled himself and his subs with an unofficial version before the release of the real thing. Now though, Cezar is more like a meme in the official team, who just released Phase 2 of the official game! TL;DR: Cezar was not banned out of jealousy, he was banned because he used his position as an official dev to steal all the assets and create an unofficial rip-off with stolen content, and Merg advertised that instead of the real thing, but now, months later, people just kinda got over it
