My mother got some wagyu from the main butcher/ freezer section, as someone who’s not a huge meat eater/meat consumer- that was some of the best meat i ever had. I don’t believe it was the A5 cut though as it was only 20$. I must inform her the a5 exists there! She was looking for it. Thanks so much

Had to Sub after watching this video. Love the chill vibe of it and the non-expert “regular Joe” trying stuff out. I always get more from these types of reviews than the ‘I wonder if this is a real or sponsored’ “professional” review. Keep up the good work and as an American of Japanese descent. Funny story : Went to B&B butcher with a girl I was dating, she had never had Kobe. I had the 4small pieces on the hot rock for $120 like a a month ago. Literally, spontaneous, spur of the moment, weren’t even dressed like super nice or anything, we just stopped in to have that and we were going to leave. I order it & the waiter tells me, well, that’s not Kobe but if you want it I’ll bring it to which I say, I was just here like a month ago and I had it and it was delicious to which he says, yes it’s great but it’s not Kobe, it’s Wagyu, if you want Kobe I can bring you Kobe. Puts me on the spot. I’m a real man so I say “bring it on then chump”. He asks what cuts I say “bring her a filet I’ll take a ribeye”. Freaking Chef comes out “ I guess to make sure we were good for it lol I don’t know” and says “ hi just wanted to come out and introduce myself and I wanted to meet the guests who’ve just ordered these fantastic cuts of beef”. 😳😳😳 Long story short.. Waiter brings me the check, hers was $430 mine was like $380 “ I think “. I still have a picture of the receipt 🧾. $960 with the wine and appetizers not including tip. All good. Was a great experience but even better one when I make them at home. You can literally find really great cuts of WAGYU at a good HEB and if you make them properly, they are off the chain and taste way better than any of the top steakhouses. Watch out for menus that say “MKT PRICE” 🤣🤣 Great video. Cheers 🥂

@@DavidSriracha thank you for posting man. Great content. Although I don’t believe in removing any fat, I’ll have to try that rubbing the pan with the fat. I typically do a reverse sear and if done properly, you can literally eat the steak with a spoon bro. Not sure if you drink at all but pair that ridiculously tasty meat with a great wine and it’s a mouth orgasm 😂😂. I know many say to only place salt & pepper on a steak and you prob can on a real A5 Kobe but maaaan. I make a light baste with unsalted whipped butter & TRUFFLE SEASONING. That’s been a game changer. Keep up the great work brother 💯

Just a tip but once you fry the steaks on both sides, you can cut them in half, them in half again if you don't want to the core to be so rare- the Japanese chef I watched will put a little wasabi on top of the smaller pieces and drizzle it with a bit of soy sauce. He cuts the pieces down to about sushi size.

Great video! I love eating wagyu myself. I believe the one that Costco carries is Miyazaki, which is good, but not as good when comparing it to the top 3, Kobe, Omi, and Matsuzaka. If you try it again, try pairing it with some wasabi or flake salt, it goes really great with it. Also cook your mushrooms in the left over wagyu fat and fond makes a big difference.

miyazaki has consistently placed above kobe in competition so it is miyazaki that is above kobe
@aznwingzr03 жыл бұрын
@@Kiwippy Afaik, The Wagyu beef competition is held every five years, and Kobe Beef has not been competing in that competition for awhile now has it's already solidified its position and brand, so you can't compare it in that way. I myself have eaten a lot of different wagyu, in Japan and from my friend who imports japanese wagyu for his restaurant and business and we both stand on our opinion that Kobe is much better than Miyazaki, and again it's our opinion, but Kobe is also a LOT more expensive than Miyazaki, nearly 2-3 times per lb. At least for what I've paid for here in the US.

You've never had a A5 wagyu cooked to well done have you? I only eat my A5 well done. Never regretted a single bit. It's nothing like a normal well done steak. The meat still is tender AF and melts in mouth because half of it is fat. IMO it even tastes better than medium/medium rare A5 because the fat is better rendered down and not like under cooked fat. It's literally impossible to overcook an A5 wagyu unless you burn it.
