Great content Brian. Love the opto fuse... a disc that will never leave my bag.. Great late turning midrange

Another great dis comparison video. I love and bag both the Fuse and the Tursas in different bags because they both fly so similar. Instead of trying to hyper-flip the Fuse, I normally throw a Truth or Core for the straight to slightly over stable mid range shot. I have an opto X fuse that used to fly pretty straight on a flat release, but after throwing it a while, it is now kind of understable.

I bag a retro for no fade turnover and this video shows me I should stick with it. 👍

Yes!!! I bag retro for the same reason! Great no fade turnover, hyzer flip to straight with very little effort. I also use the Opto Fuse mainly for straight shots. Awesome glide and consistent flight patterns. (I cycle several of each - retro and Opto into the bag so they are dispensable).

Opto X Fuse is my jam. I lost my Zombie McCray 2020 one, but after a long wait I finally replaced it with a 2021 JohnE tour series.

I like the Opto X too. It’s seems slightly more stable than the two I reviewed today. Glad you got the replacement! Relief!

I love the fuse, always 1 or 2 in the bag. A couple of years ago I succeded in finding the perfect opto fuse for me with a slight but stiff dome that lets it hold dead straight instead of turning over like my flat-top opto fuses do (which is nearly every opto fuse I find). My experience has been that a "poppy" opto flies a lot like a flat-top opto-x but the dome adds a bit of glide... my first opto-x was way too overstable with basically a quarter inch height to its dome (first JohnE teamseries run) but most of the X-plastic fuses are a bit on the flat side, though I have 2 that have a promising amount of dome that I have not yet tried out fully (1 is olivegreen... hasn't made the bag yet because it will be a nightmare to find, the other one I haven't really had a chance to try properly because of all the ice and snow). The fuse is much more of a finessedisc than most other mids though... my stable opto fuse can hold straight but can't handle nearly as much power as my Gobi (or maybe I just can't keep it clean enough with that added power...)

I love the Fuse too! I use retro and Opto specifically, but I also have the Tournament X JEM rotating in now!

Great video. I would like a similar one on the pure. Awesome if you could compare opto, gold and gold-x.

@Johan G - I have not gotten the new Gold X Pures yet, but did do Opto X, Zero Medium and Retro. Will look to get those Gold X ones sometime. Zach Melton says they are nice and straight! Thank you for your support! Here’s the link to other video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2WXY42CrbqrgdU

Next up Pure PLEASE! I just got my Gold-X one. I also own a "mutant" Opto Fuse, it is an older run (got it over 5yrs ago well used and now it is BEATEN) and for some reason it is still at least as stable as a new Opto Fuse 😅
@1andonlyMiro2 жыл бұрын
Oh and you mentioned the Moonshine Opto-X one. I let go of that one, thought it would replace my old one, but they were pretty identical flightwise 😅😅😅

@1andonlyMiro- I did a comparison of the Pure in the Retro, Zero Medium, Opto and Opto X plastics. If I can get the money together to get the Gold X, I’ll review/compare that too. Otherwise, below is the link to the other review. Happy Holidays and Happy Discing! kzbin.info/www/bejne/q2WXY42CrbqrgdU

Retro Burst Fuse or Gold-X Fuse JohnE McCray ?
@BeaverBranch2 жыл бұрын
I like the retro burst fuse, it’s less stable than the Fuzion X JEM. I bag both the retro and Opto, and I’m circulating the JEM in with the Opto spot. The FX and Opto have more done and are slightly more stable (not a stable disc by any means). They have awesome glide and I use them a lot of the time when you could use a putter (off the tee or for upshots). They take a little work to figure out the angle, arm speeds and releases as you would for any disc.
@buhrj662 жыл бұрын
Awesome review. I recently started throwing the opto fuse and I love it, I just have a quick question. I’m looking for a hyzer flip to turnover disc for the woods and your baseline fuse’s look perfect for that. How long does it take to beat one in like that. (Base plastic)
@BeaverBranch2 жыл бұрын
Hey buhrj66! Retro (base) Fuses come pretty understable and beat in to pretty fast to hyzer flip discs! (0-5 rounds on a wooded course, to season). I actually have about 4-5 in circulation (in and out of the bag so they are beat about the same). They are easy to flip up like a putter but have more glide so they can go further with less effort. And that is what I depend on the retro (base) Fuses for is being able to hyzer flip easily and for anhyzer left to right shots. If you can get them in lower 170’s (171-174) they will come pretty flippy.
@buhrj662 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the advice, I’m having a hard to forcing anhyzers in the woods. And I wanna give the hyzer flip to anhyzer a try. Most of the courses I play around my town are old school left to right holes. I usually forehand a lot of them but I think the backhand is a cooler flight. I’m gonna give some of those retro fues’s a try. Thanks!
@BeaverBranch2 жыл бұрын
@@buhrj66 also try doing hyzer flips on a neutral to understable putter as well! The Deputy flips very easily brand new, a Pure is also a good hyzer flipper! Have fun!

Thanks for the info, I’ll check those putters out too. I’m slowly switching my bag over to all trilogy. Way better plastic 👍🏼

Why do you like the opto gold More than the moonshine disc you have?
@BeaverBranch2 жыл бұрын
I don’t want to say I dislike the Opto Moonshine, but it was a lot more stable and flew more like a Warship! I like the JEM TPX run a little more because it flies understable more like standard Opto.
@sunesnigel2 жыл бұрын
Inspiring as always. How do you release the anhyzers shots, flat or with an angle?
@BeaverBranch2 жыл бұрын
Depends on how hard I’m throwing it. If I’m throwing a touch/light speed shot I put it on angle. If I’m going longer and throwing harder more to the hyzer release. It can be a touchy disc getting to know the angles and arm speeds, but definitely very useful and fun disc to throw!
@sunesnigel2 жыл бұрын
@@BeaverBranch I see! Yes it's a lot of fun but it's a hit or miss for me, some times it burns and sometimes it flies beautiful. I just have to practice. I'm having problem with wobble in the release and it is screwing things up. Have you tried Kastaplast? I just got a Berg and I'm very keen on trying it out, can't wait for spring!

I didn't understand triology meant Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs and WestSide. Never mind my Berg question. Happy holidays =)

Anyone here that could compare the Origin to the Fuse? I currently use the Origin for similar lines.
@BeaverBranch2 жыл бұрын
@ Herb Tedebjork - the numbers look very similar. I think they are exactly same numbers as the Warship! Happy Holidays and Happy Discing!
@austinmeade71502 жыл бұрын
The feel is the biggest thing. Origin is nice and slim, the fuse is a bit more domey and deeper.
@FinHatch2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I am commenting because just today I did some fieldwork/testing with both discs. I find that Fuse is bit more vulnerable to tech faults and Origin is just a hint more stable, kinda depends which mid you're more after: with Origin its easier to throw straight/slight hyzer shots, with Fuse straight/beautiful panning turnovers.
