That looks great! Now shine a UV light on it haha. I use 1/4” airline tubing as a straw and its super effective.

Thanks man! This was my first shot at a glue bed. Very happy with how it turned out. I watched some of yours and will definitely be getting some tubing so I don't have to bend over the disc with the straw.
@nowskidyes27403 жыл бұрын
@@FlyingMileDiscGolf yeah it works so much better. Your breath is quite humid as well, so grab a can of compressed air like keyboard cleaner you can use to clean out the airline from condensation too. I think water/spit on the bed makes white spots

Well done dude. I still can’t get over how much of the dye (especially worm dip) comes off after you rinse the glue away. Been hard to get pink red or orange worm dip to stick. Have to use the iDye equivalent for those colors.
@FlyingMileDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was surprised how poorly the pink worked. I have seen a few posts lately specifically about pink worm dip. Blue and yellow worked great so it must be something to do with the density, causing it to sink more.

I finally tried this after watching this video (using idye poly) and I’m pretty happy with the result of my first attempt. The only issue I had was that I used a pie tin that was black, so I couldn’t really see where the colors were going and was designing blind lmao.
@FlyingMileDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
I had that same problem using a black frisbee to hold the dye. Definitely easier using a silver tin.

@FlyingMileDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
I didn't press very hard at all, just enough to make sure it was settled. What type of dye are you using? The pink worm dip seemed to sink quite a bit on mine and didn't transfer much.

@@FlyingMileDiscGolf rit synthetic though I didn't add acetone as I had none will that make the colors less dense?

Do you only use the glue bed once? So after you pull out you get rid of all the glue?

Yeah we only use it once. You can definitely use it a second time, but it will be more difficult to get the exact pattern you're looking for.

Do you ever have any issues with air bubbles in the glue? If so how do you get them out?
@FlyingMileDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
I try to pour it out smooth to avoid bubbles, but if they do show up I just use a toothpick to drag them to the edge. You can also use heat to get them to rise the the surface to get rid of them.
@meganburgett25413 жыл бұрын
Are you rinsing with cold water? Video doesn't say.
@FlyingMileDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
If you are able to, use cold water as it will help prevent the color from spreading. When needed, warm or hot water can help get the glue off of the disc.

How does the worm dip not eat through the stamp?
@FlyingMileDiscGolf3 жыл бұрын
The alcohol part of the worm dip evaporates very quickly, so by the time you place the disc there isn't anything left to dissolve the stamp.
