Jak I just wanna say thanks alot for all the guides and videos! I started playing this game in Dragonflight season 1 as a hunter and in S3 I made the transition to disc priest. I'm always trying to improve and I've come a really long way thanks to all your videos and guides. I've always wanted to be able to time +20s (now +10s) to get my first portal ever (just a personal goal of mine) and thanks to all your guides and the WoW head disc priest page, you made, I just managed to time my very first +10 (COT)!! Bro I was watching you during Legion and then I stopped playing and now that I'm coming back... there you are! Last time I was the main priest in the first guild of the server, but my raid leader only let me play holy despite I proved him I could play disc (I respeced and we downed the boss, he didn't even notice until after and he was furious). This time I'm gonna play disc no matter what! (holy is still fun thought)

Quick tip. I believe renew is VERY underrated. I’m currently on 32% haste and I perma use it from pack to pack mid HP targets (with divine star/Empowered holy nova). I didn’t realize the power renew held until I got the trinket Gale of shadows. It gives you really good INT every time a DoT/HoT ticks. Also, I really think it’s good to drop on the tank when I drop the shield on him pre pull. Then as soon as he’s in combat I start purging all enemies (excluding two) and let penance spread the dot naturally. A lot of people say disc has no mana issues, I say you can afford being abit more mana hungry. Thoughts?

Just got keystone master as disc, took a couple different talents, pword life, ultimate penitence. It’s helpful when you pug and don’t have the people in voice. Nobody has complained about my healing yet so I think you’re right, don’t let the tier list get you down, disc is super fun to play.

I'm so torn on disc; I think it's a really fun playstyle, and do *eventually* end up playing disc in most expansions, but I feel like you have to work so much harder for the same or lesser results than you'd get for playing holy; especially in the first season or two. Either way it's nice to have the option, even if I just play disc for low keys and switch to holy to push.

Thanks! I wasn't expecting to take my priest through TWW as early as this, but I did and decided disc was the way to go. It's VERY new to me. Not much healing in my line up, and I leveled him in Remix so I didn't actually play him. Getting into normals now has been interesting. Definitely was overusing my Renew to get quick Atonements, but yeah, not the best. It's also on my middle mouse which is also my PING system, so I don't know how to solve that haha Largely though I had the class correct, just gotta get used to the pace of dungeons as this kind of healer.

As someone who loved the earlier iteration of disc im really disappointed that oracle struggles with damage in an m+ setting. Imo vw is everything blizzard gets wrong about disc as an identity

Disc suffers mainly when people don't know mechanics. Disc shines when damage is predicted. The weakness is that it is not a reactive healer. The actual HPS that disc can throw is top tier.

I think one of the major issues with disc is they don’t have the plethora of abilities that holy does and they can’t always dish out emergency spot heals as needed and their cooldowns are more preventive than actual hps. They’re great about not overheating though

Disc's identity has been Neutered imo and voidweaver is just an amalgamation of everything wrong with blizzards implementation of disc. As a disc glad from wotlk through mop and a season in SL, oracle is what disc should be a support absorb healer.

Healing a target that is full HP. For some healer specs it can be an issue but for Discipline its natural and not an issue at all.

@@psikiatriekimi What kind of keys are you doing? In +7s/8s so far, I've found Disc to be arguably the weakest healer. I prefer to take a Rshaman or Preservation evoker. They seem to do WAY more healing, way more reliably. Voidweaver Disc feels alright(ish) with mindbender and entropic rift out, but for the 18sec or so they're down, Disc feels like it has no HPS and people just die.

in a nutshell, start your atonement application maybe about 14 seconds before damage happens and just before boss finishes its cast time, start dpsing. It is like playing the piano! Holy Paladin way easier, In a nutshell just holy shock when someone needs healing. Both are extremely extremely fun in raid and ofc I m super biased here :)

Radiance sounds like Temporl Anomaly, Powerword Shield/Renew/Flash heal sounds like Echo. One blasts damage after hp goes down, one blasts healing.

Also I said it in another video but disc has no real class fantasy right now and is stupid and convoluted. Needs to be either the giga shielder or get completely changed and maybe turned into a support style class like aug since its playstyle already is the closest to augs out of all specs. Disc and aug are easily the two dumbest specs class-fantasy-wise.

Oracle is way better than voidweaver, the amount of haste right now is so low, when you try to cast radiance is a waste of time the boss always put a aoe the moment you start casting and it is an enemy AI feature means when you do that you have to cancel the casting and reposition by the moment you recast 2sec cast time all your party is dead including the tank, oracle make the radiance instant when you activate preminition and there is a another talen that can reduce premonition cooldown which means is way better than void weaver your attunments have more duration which is way better than do damage in my opinion and also in oracle and when you apply a shield you also apply prayer of mending whichs is the best.
