The face reveal makes a jumpscare sound! I think the only other time that sound plays is in the shootout near the end of the game.

Yes - since you also at one point have the option of shaving, there are actually seven possible avatars for Harry: - Pre-mirror/Never wiped mirror blurry face - Face with mutton chops and The Expression - Face with mutton chops without The Expression - Face without mutton chops but with The Expression - Face without mutton chops without The Expression - Icebreaker face with mutton chops (fascist/evil Harry) - Icebreaker face without mutton chops (fascist/evil Harry)

It actually is. I’ve seen the Player Character’s pre-mirror portrait outside of the Whirling, so you can just not check the mirror if you don’t want to.
