Thank you everyone for the overwhelming response to this video! I really appreciate the warm welcome I've received from so many UK viewers. This comes as no surprise to me, because it reflects how we felt during our entire visit back in November! Stay tuned - I'll be releasing a new vlog from our England trip every FRIDAY! The first video of yours I’ve watched, and I’m a Londoner. It’s great to see a travel video that concentrates on the emotions and excitement, rather than just information as there’s loads like that out there. I genuinely felt excited for you. Belated happy birthday, and a great choice of tea by Mike, Smoky Earl Grey is my favourite, and exclusive to Fortnums - and I believe enjoyed by our late Queen Elizabeth. Walking round London at Christmas is a wonderful experience.

Next time you visit, try and go to a pantomime. They're on every Christmas until late January. If you like theatre and humour you will enjoy it. Children love them. Sloane Square on the tube is overlooked, but very pretty at Christmas and has Peter Jones department store which has a cheap restaurant, Kings Road full of small shops, restaurants and pubs. You can walk along Sloane Street to Harrods (turn left) at knightbridge, or cross over the road at knightbridge, straight ahead is Hyde Park. If you take a bus past Harrods you will arrive at museums and Albert Hall. Try and take buses, they're cheap and you will see more from the top deck. If you take the 137 you'll go round London, over the Thames to Clapham Common, which has lots of restaurants and pubs and Clapham Junction, ditto. Clapham Junction also has the train station where you can travel easily to Richmond, Hampton Court and Eton Riverside. If you like walking along the Thames, its nice and greener than London. Have a good time.

It was wonderful. There are still cultural difference I am learning after 25+ years. And back next week to meet friends from New York for our annual January trip. Did I ever think I would do this on my first trip at age 30? No. I have been to the UK 70 or 80 times but will never run out of things to do. And do explore the rest of the UK when you get a chance. The driving comes after a while (although the first time is a bit nerve-wracking) and there are some really incredible places you can get to when you hire/rent a car.

It truly was magical! WOW! 70 or 80 times?! That's amazing. Have you ever considered moving there? Or you just love having it as your escape? We did get a few experiences outside of London, and it only made me want to return even more! SO much more to see and explore in the future!

@georgeprout426 күн бұрын
It's probably too late now, but go into camera settings and change the frequency. US is 60Hz, UK is 50Hz. That's why theres banding when filming under artificial light. Camera is compensating for the wrong mains flicker frequency. Remember to change it back when you get home or you'll hit the same problem.

London is one of the top 5 cities in the world. It gets a lot of hate from people who have never been there but read something about it. Just like Dubai, New York, Paris. Man up and go and see for yourself rather than read some negative tabloids and base your opinions solely from that.

I don't really have an explanation for it either, aside from that the US is just so expansive that many focus their travel locally for cost/ease of travel. But I'm SO glad I finally made the trip - it won't be the last, that's for sure!
