i have a ‘97 DB7 that drains the battery if it sits too long. is this inevitable ? usually it’s dead in 2 weeks. Can i safely use a trickle charger. The battery in the DB 7 is in the trunk. Thanks.

Hey Aston1936. Great video .. hooking up the CTEK trickle charger to the 2011 DB9 and I don't think you're supposed to hook the negative cable to the battery itself. (according the the CTEK instructions) Have you ever had to use a Trickle Charger?

Thanks! I've not used a trickle charger with mine since it's my daily driver, but I'd be likely to plug in through the truck connection and use the factory trickle charger, or modify my fancy charger to have a cigarette lighter end on it and plug in there. Negative to the battery is fine, I think its a safety issue to not connect both neg and pos anywhere near the battery itself since it could be offgassing hydrogen when charging (explosive), and the inevitable spark connecting to the terminals could trigger it (boom). Our batteries are vented via the tube, and AGM batteries if you have one don't off gas the same. Anyways, since getting to the battery terminals is a huge hassle, I would rig up something through the trunk connection. Good luck!
