In the 70s, Jell-O also came out with 1-2-3 layered fruit dessert and Spoon Candy! Got to try each of these at least once as a kid!

Growing up in the 60s and 70s I used to enjoy frozen Lolas were sold initially as a drink but frozen were a refreshing delight especially in summer. Their genius packaging made them easy to open and eat. They came in orange grape and cherry.

As kids, my brothers and I thought that TV dinners were great. My mom only would get them as a once in a while treat.

The Tv Dinners in the Aluminum tray just tasted so much better than the ones in plastic trays! The Fried Chicken ones and the Salisbury steak ones were the best, and they had different desserts for each dinner not just the awful brownie you find now

Who remembers Cornquistos picante flavor corn snacks? Or O'Gradys Au Gratin flavor potato chips? Both from the early 1980s. I really miss those!

Mars's And Murrie's Kudos (R) Cereal Bars were also edible as breakfast food, not least when milk was drunk with them. But alas, Mars And Murrie was a CONFECTIONER, and it never bothered to pursue the breakfast approach to its ads for its Kudos (R) Cereal Bars.

Tv dinners? Many new companies produce their versions of what we grew up knowing as tv dinners. New , improved but also more expensive.

The candy, eaten with hot beverages to wash it down, was just the best known part of the Ayds Reducing Plan, on which thousands were boasted of as having lost weight in body fat. The candy itself contained an appetite suppressant whose mechanism of action the hot beverage catalyzed.

As bad as its unfortunate, and false, linkage with that disease that destroyed human immune systems was the abandonment of the Ayds Reducing Plan of which it was the best known element.

TV dinners were a treat when parents went out at night and we had a babysitter. The foil pulling back and a steaming dinner and always got one with a dessert. Snacking cake, that was a quick cake and not too much. And we would sometimes make two if somebody wanted one and someone else wanted something different. Pizza spins were yucky.

General Mills's Breakfast Squares gave way to various cereal bars; eat any of THOSE with milk for your wash-down beverage, and VOILA! You straight up done ate you some BREAKFAST.

Nestlé Carnation Breakfast Bars too were a forerunner of present-day cereal bars. Add Nestlé Carnation Instant Breakfast Powder to milk, stir, and VOILA! You done up and got yourself a SPLENDID wash-down beverage for the Breakfast BARS. Of late, alas, the formula for the Instant Breakfast (no longer named that) had a tendency to strike your digestive system almost like a laxative.

Look hard enough, and you could still find Topps (R) Bazooka (R) Brand Bubble Gum in some stores. The Topps Company, it had to be admitted, had one wicked sense of humor; its "Wacky Packages" (R) cards and stickers joked about "Gadzooka Gum," for one. "Annoy your teacher," its punchline read; "chew bubble gum in class."
