thank you! I was wondering why I needed to switch to PC every time I used discord

Great video! I heard that the inbuilt mic test of discord doesn’t represent the audio quality you actually get inside a call. It’s actually worse in the mic test. Is it true? What are the odds you make a video checking it out and how to improve microphone audio quality on discord? You probably have much more knowledge on how to make things better! Some people also use Craig bot to record the call and hear themselves afterwards in the recording to check the mic quality. I use discord a lot and never find a good solution to monitor myself better I ended up spending a lot of money on expansive mics thinking it would improve the mic quality because of the mic test on discord. Craig bot helped me fix that but I don’t really know accurate the recording of the bot is compared to the real live call.

Huh, I had no idea motu m2 had an issue with discord. I use voice meeter for everything audio on my pc and never used the motu m2 natively, aside from in obs but it works perfectly fine.

Thanks. Does the App Audio Share (when screen sharing) work this way though?

I am really disappointed by Motu’s lack of driver support for issues similar to this on Windows. Additionally, Discord’s lack of input options makes this worse; no input gain boost, no individual channel (L/R) select. I had similar issues with my M4 if I open OBS and Discord simultaneously, with audio pops and dropouts regardless of buffer size. Based on some research on Google it seems to affect Intel 12th/13th gen platforms and potentially 10th/11th gen as well. It only started when I upgraded my PC to 7th to 12th gen. I ended up just buying an Arturia interface to fix the issue even though the Motu has a better, lower impedance headphone output. 😢

My cheap Behringer umc204HD has 2 XLR inputs and the behringer windows driver allows apps to use either input1 or input2, or both in stereo. so i can select input1 in discord for my ath-m50xsts.

I think I encountered something like this with the Audient ID4 as well. A lot of these devices have their own loopback these days. Including the Motu I believe. So I don't think using this software on Mac or Voicemeeter on Win is as necessary as it used to be.

I'm assuming Voicemeeter Banana on PC can solve the same issue

Can you create a tutorial with blackhole? Loopback costs $99 after trial :(
