I work at Sysco and I am still in training. We operate a 3 pallet jack here. Our armband computer tells us where to put the cases. We have the liberty to decide where specifically to place a case on a specific pallet, but not on a different pallet because it could go to a different truck. So for example , if it has to be placed on the firsr pallet, it has to go there but you can place it anywhere on that pallet. The computer specifies either front or back, but it's ok to diverge. I'm not sure if this answers your questions. Also, I know you are not a fan of plastic pallets, but I love them because they are easy to mount on the jack. Those blue colored wooden ones are a bitch to get 3 of them on without any load on them. You have to bump into something sturdy to get all of them on. It wastes time, but if that is what is required on the order then you have to use them, or unless there aren't any plastics left. Also, despite busting my ass off, I know why I am slow because I don't look ahead in my order and multitask more efficiently. I will waste time grabbing a case and placing it only to realize I could have grabbed the next 2 others at the same time. I saw the veterans here doing it, they are like scanning everything nearby like boom boom boom at the same time, putting cases temporarily on their shoulder and moving onward, I'm like woah. This stuff is crazy

I worked at Sysco in the freezer, one thing that will help your rate is hitting blue 5 when you start your order to see if you have any high quantity items so you can either grab it first if it's the last stop on that pallet and make it your base or you can plan for it.. also once you get your stack above waist high don't worry so much about zoning anymore.

We mostly pick to one to three cages on the LLOP but we do have one shop that only has pallets

Forgot to add we can only put two blue pallets long ways, if wide ways the LLOP forks break the pallets

If your not making rate, you are wasting time between orders or your sup/manager is clueless, and edited the rate system wrong, they probably went off the times of someone running with easy orders.
