The first 4 digits tell you the issuer of the card(i.e., Mastercard, Visa, American Express, etc). The next 4 digits tell you what bank and service(checking, credit, savings, etc) the card is connected to. Everything after that is a unique identifier for the card itself. I found out about the first 4 digits by using an online payment app with different cards from different companies, and once the first set of digits is input, the app automatically selects the correct issuer

But with Discord, Discord is the entity that sells you Nitro. Additionally, Steam benefits, even if you purchase games from 3rd party websites, since that brings users to their platform, meaning they can collect and sell data. And these new users will buy more games or DLCs. I mean, look at me. I originally created my Steam account to play a game I bought as disk with a key and now I have nearly 1000 games in my library. Discord only loses when you buy Nitro from a 3rd party, since they make less money from it compared to you buying it from them (or they just make none at all) and they don't really gain new customers.

It’s impossible to guarantee the BIN lists will even work. The odds of guessing a credit card number AND the expiration date AND the CVV is very unlikely. The odds are astronomically low AND very time consuming to validate. Bots may help with generation BUT most merchants now have a captcha AND an error that occurs when you try to enter the numbers too many failed times. What I think is happening: either the discord gift database is shitting itself and discord is blaming its users OR all of the cards used to purchase nitro are skimmed (which is a major felony). The most probable of these is the gift database is shitting itself, most people that had this issue NEVER got an email about their nitro being revoked. This points to an issue on discords end, if the nitros were used with a stolen payment method there should have been an email stating that. Because the email was not sent out it makes me believe discord is pointing fingers to its users in hope that the users will not sue for refunds.

Y'know, funny story A year ago, my discord account was hacked and unfortunately a payment of discord nitro was made on that same account I requested a chargeback, stating it was false payment (As my discord account was hacked at the time ☹) and my account did end up suspended, but after sending another forum in discord support, my account was surprisingly no longer suspended, and I was able to log back into it. Now I still use the same account 👍

My partner just bought Nitro and like 2 days later discord disabled their account for a fradulent purchase despite them literally not doing anything other than buying Nitro with their debit card (It was also great how this happened out of the blue on a friday night and the email about it said if they didn't want to lose their account or something they had to get it sorted in the next 48h which would've been the weekend when the banks are closed 💀) Anyway then discord support wasn't responding the entire weekend and when they finally did, all they did was refund Nitro and not give my partner access back to their account :D Though thankfully the next day after they messaged discord support for like the third time they finally were like oops our bad and gave it back :'D So yeah, that was fun to deal with on a weekend where they were busy like 12 hours a day on both days. Guess who's never buying Nitro again-

It might not be mass chargebacks and rather it's something similar to a banwave, if you revoke all the nitro from people who have been getting them illegally all at once they can't pin down how you found them out. With just one or a few people banned at a time they can tell others what they did and the others will know that method is burned or that they need to find a work around. If you ban hundreds or thousands of people you've found over the last 6 months all at once, there might be several methods involved and no one will know what went wrong. Either they treat all methods as burnt or they keep using the same method hoping they don't get screwed again.
