I read he didn't do makeup on models he thought looked underage, I think that really says something about what he believes ❤️🖤

It's a high time to do a movie or a proper tv documentary/dedication to Kevyn Aucoin. He deserves it.

Kitty “Beauty and the Beast Within Me”. LOGO TV. I cried the rest of the night after I saw it. It’s always the same, the best die so young.

Ugh, wish he was still here :( I used to LOVE watching him in the 90s, I was only a kid, but he just fascinated me so much. I remember when Making Faces came out, I wanted it soooooo badly, but I was just a kid & couldn't afford the book. So they'd actually did Making Faces calendar where each month was one of the celebrity looks from the book, so I bought that. Didn't give you any info really, but I just loved looking at the beautiful photos of looks he created. My favorite one I remember distinctly, it was a look he did for Tori Amos, & it was just this gorgeous, dewy, natural look where she looked like she was glowing, it was just amazing! Even now, decades later, the looks he created still look very fresh & relevant, not dated at all. Like if you weren't familiar with him & didn't know it was from the 90s, you'd never know.

In the book he turned Tori into a few different characters. All stunning.

He was soooo ahead of the times. The face was his canvas, truly an artist. I can't tell you how many times I have thumbed through my own coffee table book "Making Faces".

Genius of his trade, learned it by trial and error on his sisters. Not only his skill on the make up, but how he was brought up in his adopted family is very fascinating. I recommend reading his book, "Making faces"

Kevyn's genious, truly EMPOWERED me to learn HOW TO apply make up, PROPERLY.. For me the concealer ,and contouring ,is MOST important its all about the blending

At least people can see the difference between a true professional makeup artist compared to all these youtuber poser makeup artist wannabees, Just because you have a popular channel and post tutorials DOES NOT make you a PROFESSIONAL!! It's destroying what a real professional makeup artist (in the fashion world) is!!

He's the King! And I loved how he would say you can do anything you want with makeup - there are no rules. Every time I wear a smokey eye during the day, I always think of Kevyn.

No its not pronounced that way. you can see him pronounce it here on an interveiw and its french. sounds like aqweh almost theres no N. You'll have to find it yourslef. He also explains the french meaning.
@1asset3 жыл бұрын
he said OH quahn. the n is there but very lightly said. i think he was guessing/being silly re the meaning, lol

His make up line came out after he died. And honestly I don't think he had much to do with it.
