It Came From the Desert is one of my favorite games of ALL time. I play it every few months! WAY ahead of it's time!
@TheMythNomer2 жыл бұрын
I agree. It Came From The Desert was one of the best Cinemaware games, only really surpassed by Wings. Of course, it helps if the player doesn't click past moments where the game is trying to throw the player a bone (such as when the theres a knock at the door, or when the phone rings 🤣. Once the various mini games kick in, and the player becomes well practiced at them, the game really opens up into something of a 16-bit masterpiece.

I loved It Came From The Desert when I was young. I don't think I've ever experienced anxiety in a video game like when escaping the hospital. Definitely give it another go. Also can we all appreciate the music when visiting Dusty at the KBUG radio station.

It Came From The Desert! Wow, I'd forgot about that. I must have spent many hours playing it back in the day. Such drama and intrigue, and puzzling. Awesome.

Twenty obscur-ish Amiga games worth trying (in no particular order): - Jumping Jack'Son = Spin those decks. - Carvup = Painter meets platformer. - Brat = Lemmings meets Jack the Nipper (sort of). - Jetstrike CD32 = Similar to Wings of Fury, but much later in the Amiga's life. - Virocop = Arcade game with a faint wiff of Quazatron about it - Projectyle = Odd ball game vaguely like Speedball. - Menace = Early DMA Designs game similar to R-Type. - Head Over Heels = Conversion of the popular 8-bit isometric arcade adventure. - Logical = Arcade puzzler. Fill each dial with the same coloured balls. - Twintris = Quite possibly the best two player version of Tetris. - Volfied / Qix = Two games with the same idea: Hive off as much of the screen as you can. - Babylon Twins = Excellent platformer that deserves more recognition. - Rodland = Excellent arcade conversion. One or two players. - Heimdall 2 CD32 = Gorgeous arcade adventure with a decent soundtrack. - Blitz Bombers = A superior Bomberman clone. Best with multiplayer. - Flink CD32 - Psynosis's swan song to the Amiga. Stunning pixel art. - Shufflepuck Cafe - Air Hockey with aliens. - Dogs of War - Shooter in the vein of Commando / Ikari Warriors / Gunsmoke - Wonderland - Text adventure with interesting user inferface. - Wicked = Quirky shoot'em up.

Valiant - click on the character portrait to get to the character sheet and inventory management. The reason you couldn't see anything when you first went outside was because it was night time. There is a time of day icon in the character screen, so if it's night time, you wait X hours. You can also camp.

The first RPG related Amiga game looked really nice! In some of those old RPG games ability/success to picklock chest depended upon character's dexterity. In the first game there must be daylight/night time (dark) effecting visibility. Also very nice artwork in the game It came from the desert.

Gem, Your Honour. I have to raise an objection. ‘Lord of War’. Though being unique. Looks like it’s actually based upon an older Atari game called ‘Warlords’. You can currently get it for the Evercade Handheld! Also ‘Evil Dawn’ looks like a ‘Rygar’ clone. Never heard of ‘Amber Moon’ though?! But that does look good, and worth checking out! ‘It Came From the Desert’ is just superb! Worth spending time with. Check out ‘North vs South’ too. You might like it?! 🤔👍
@aimeeandstevewebber4542 Жыл бұрын
Yes, and Medieval Mayhem which is a homebrew update also on 2600. Warlords was also an arcade. I would say it is one of the best 4 player games ever. ‘Lord of War’ doesn’t look to have captured the speed or intensity of the original.

Really enjoyed watching your journey playing through and discovering these games - your commentary is top, so funny! Heard of Rambo III and Thunder Blade from back in the day on the ST. Why is Rambo so slow though...sheesh! :D Lords of War looked great as did Narco Police - really different kind of shooter and loved the art style. Great vid, loving the Amiga ones, keep em coming!

They are some very "interesting" looking games! I wondered what was going on with Rambos face for a while until you mentioned he was turning into a skull 😆. I'd say the first RPG and the castle bashing games where the most fun looking of the bunch! The police shooter looked extreamly demoralising 🤣

Hi, new subscriber enjoying the channel. I had an Amiga 500 and 1200 on release but parted ways with them many many years ago. As a PC and console gamer, there have been many times since, that I’ve regretted not keeping them or the games, of which I have such fond memories. In a moment of huge extravagance, I’ve just spent £100 on a 500 Mini and am really looking forward to reliving some of those memories, but am a little confused about how to go about eventually collecting any more games beyond the 25 preloaded titles. With no original games anymore, do I buy roms? I’ve been pointed at sites like Lemon Amiga and been told about abandonware, but is this piracy? I saw a USB on sale “Amazon Recommended” Which for £20, offered 1600 additional titles. But reading the description, the seller describes the content as abandonware. If Amazon are recommending it, it can’t be pirated right…? Confused and any advice appreciated. :) Badger

Great video, I do love some Amiga action. If you want games then The Human Killing Machine by Tiertex is an awful fighting game, so bad you should find it funny? I also recall something called Bad Cat, but I can't remember much about it. Maybe it's the brain protecting me? In the same way, the brain will block the moment of impact in a car crash? Weird Dreams, this was a wonderful idea for a game, but poorly executed.

Vigilante and Rambo 3 look absolute rubbish. The PC Engine Vigilante was almost arcade perfect and Rambo 3 on the Megadrive is so much better. The ST and Amiga had some good action games and arcade ports but it was very hit and miss, the consoles certainly were the better choice from the late 80's onward.

I loved Thunder Blade in the arcade, and the Mega Drive version was ok, but this was just awful to see. The reason Narco Police was so hard is because your framerate is insane! It's supposed to be a lot slower :). What I remember from the game us that it looked pretty but didn't have much substance.
