One that I remember was The Daring Adventures of Robin Hood, a point-and-click adventure that looked nice (based on the screenshots) and appeared at a time when Lucasarts had left the Amiga behind so as a fan of the genre I was really excited about it. It got one preview in Amiga Format 87 and... I never heard of it ever again. The publisher, BPM, had another game previewed the same issue, Spacefighter, which also was never heard from again. Both were apparently made using BPM's own development tool which they planned to sell as commercial software, and they were apparently planning a bunch of games made using it. AF reviewed a couple of compilation packs made using the software that were apparently sold via mail order and CU Amiga previewed the developnment tool itself but after a couple of months everything went silent and I have no idea what if anything ever actually got released. I have to assume nothing beyond possilbly those compilations since if there was commercial software being released - even if only low-budget mail order stuff - CU and AF would have reviewed it just to fill up some space in the mag if nothing else.

That was really interesting, I don't think I'd heard about the game or the development tool set.

Nice video, I enjoyed getting to see a few unrealesed games. I also spent a while as a kid playing that one from the Amiga Format cover disk.

Was always a bit of a disappointment to find a fun demo to then discover a few months later that it got canceled.

I played the same demo of Operation G2 and was excitedly anticipating the release of the full game, it looked rather good.

It really did, I kept hoping that it would come out.

It's a shame Putty Squad never got a release at the time. The demo was absolutely lovely and the Amiga was having it's last big Christmas in 1994. I understand the cost of releasing a cartridge game in those days, but this would have been floppies and cardboard. Justice and The Game Machine are good finds. I'd never heard of them and the video looks good. The unreleased game that came to mind was a run 'n' gun called Hardcore, by the same people who did Pinball Fantasies. It got released years later as Ultra Core on one of the modern retro systems.

I must find that demo of Operation G2, it’s something I would have played had it been released. Almost like a rudimentary System Shock? If you’d told me Desolate Worlds was a Gods sequel I’d have believed you. Star Fo… {cough} sorry Justice looks like it runs really smoothly? Another one I’d have played if it had released. Same for The Game Machine. The Putty Squad, yay! So glad it finally got a release. Fun video, thanks. It’s a shame when a game’s at least far enough along for a playable demo but ends up being scrapped. I’m glad some do eventually get a release & love when people cobble what bits are available together & I can see why some people collect them.

Some great looking titles in there, in particular I liked the look of Acsis although some music in the gameplay would just make it perfect. One game I remember seeing a demo of but was never released (at least I think not) is Limbo of the Lost on the CD32. I remember playing the demo of it (might still have it actually) and being very impressed at the time.

Limbo Of the Lost was one I was looking at, and might have to show it off in a future video.

Awesome video it is interesting how many cool games were never finished. About some of them we will never know since they have no press previews, about some we learn because authors share what they were working in old days.

Yeah I'm sure there is far more that we never heard about, or never got more then a line in a magazine and a single screen shot.

At least Putty Squad finally got released. I remember playing the demo of G2 back in the day, would be great if some version of it could be found and released.

There was a game called 'Albion' = The third in the Amberstar/Ambermoon series --- which got a PC release. Remember 'Babylonian Twins (1994 ish)' --- A demo came out but not the game --- except on the Mobiles.

Albion is an cool game, I've put a bunch of time into it a few times (never finished it). Balyonia Twins is one that I was planning on covering but really didn't want to show off the mobile version.

I’m sorry, but I can’t look at those hallways in Operation G2 without thinking of Goatse. What has the internet done to me?

Desolate Word was created by CZECH team not Polish... and it was less GODS inspired than you can tell from the released demo...
