Hi! I follow Dr. Ken Berry here on KZbin, and he just posted a video on Diet and Diabetes. I don't have diabetes, but my mother-in-law does and has had great success with Keto/low-carb. Dr. Ken is a Carnavorie, but I have seen many people succeed while still eating some carbs. Diets don't work. It is all about balance in your life. Good sleep, food, and movement. Where does Aldi bread come from? Looked like it was frozen. I thought I saw moisture in one bag or was it not? You seem cautious on snack food, which is great. We buy lunch meat of bologna, ham, olive loaf, and hot ham. Pam you would give me a big NO NO! Their meat doesn’t look bad at all. Just price check. Well done. I love this haul. We buy a lot of similar things. However, I am an elementary teacher so my two kids go to school and daycare. So I do find I have to buy things like applesauce pouches and some snacks because of my kids seeing other children with things like this. You are blessed to homeschool. The good news is I teach and my son attends in the same small Catholic school and my daughter is in a daycare with her “ second” grandma. So I can feel I have some control over their environment but it’s hard. Aldi, Simply Nature snacks save me. lol

@@ronandpattitelfer7793I’m not buying them unhealthy snacks. They know what is healthy and what is not. I’m saying that I buy some convenience healthy snacks because of them being in school. They have two snacks and lunch everyday at school. We also have some allergies and intolerances in our house. My son gets enough of being told “ no” you can’t have the birthday cupcakes brought in but you can have the cookies you brought in to have at school. Does that make sense now? He’s only 5! Also, children by default want to be like their friends. I see this so frequently in my job as a teacher. It’s not wrong as long as long as it’s not harmful. For example I love working in a school with uniforms for that reason. I could name a ton more but that’s the idea. Also, there is nothing wrong with sending something like an applesauce pouch or some healthy crackers for a snack because it’s convenient for a working mom and it makes her child feel included with their friends. Eating is a social activity.
