I would expect Feral and DK to be top tier for prog, considering my PTR experience on how hard the tanks get smacked in ICC HC, warriors definitely somewhere around low A to B tier, palas in the middle. But I'd love to hear your opinion. :D Tanked all of HC ICC on warmane as a warrior, had hella fun since warrior is very mobile compared to others.

We use prot paladin tanks too, they feel good for tanking bosses (from my healer perspective at least) and they also have all the utility of a paladin too. haven't seen many feral tanks, would like to do a deep dive into the numbers and what people think right now. DK definitely will have a main role in the raid too. Not many guilds are brave enough to have a warrior tank, but I imagine if they have the skill it's very viable @@markomancikas

The haste cap is really only reachable for 1.5/instant spells, so more important for druids/priests than shaman/pally.

I have haste cap on my druid, for druid it's just the 1 second gcds for rejuvenation/wild growth. unless I misunderstand it

Most (good) hc lk attempts i'm seeing are using a holy priest since guardian spirit is busted and the aoe burst healing is pretty good. I think you underrated it here.

we haven't hit LK yet to see how it will perform, we did all the other bosses. i'd be very disappointed if resto druid has no role on LK and hpriest is the meta. just feels like this was druids time to shine finally

@@NOHITJEROME LK is just one fight I'm sure rdruid will be good for most of the other ones. Its just that if the one of the blockers for HC LK is soul reaper deaths then a minmaxed comp really wants all your healers bringing something to help with tank damage, which rdruid doesn't. (rshaman brings inspiration uptime)

I would place resto druid as high A low S tier honestly, with Wg working as intended now, rogues/dks/ferals/warriors will be putting how much more damage than usual. the added fact that there is so much mobility needed in these fights is also a nob of how good is it is to have a resto druid. The trifecta is Pally/Disc/RDruid now compared to how it was. we'll see with where shamans are after they get their gear but just going from 258 to 251 and gaining 15% increased healing is bonkers.

I agree fully, loving the rdruid on PTR right now. They will peak early, but that's fine with me. I don't need to be the star healer in March or april when nobody cares anymore. I've never taken the time to calculate how much extra dps a warrior does for example with rejuv on 100% of the time. Do you have any idea where those numbers might exist?

Hey brother can you make a heroic ICC boss tier list easiest to hardest? My guild will be doing mostly norms week 1 with a slow progression into the heroics. Would be nice to know what’s on the easier side and vise versa

sounds like a blast to make that, I will investigate it. in my experience so far it's LK (haven't done it, but nobody has killed it yet) -> putricide -> sindragosa -> lady deathwhisper -> saurfang (heroic for all of these of course NM is fine) -> bloodqueen (not hard but the dps check is so tight early on) -> prince -> rotface -> healing boss -> festergut -> first boss -> gunship

Gunship is going to be a gimme week one for most guilds. In comparison every single boss fight is far more challenging - though some are effectively just gear checks (Saurfang, Blood Queen) and others will remain difficult because its all about mechanics (Putricide, Sindragosa) with Lich King being both a challenging gear check filled with raid wiping mechanics going off every few seconds for 10-15 minutes. If you can clear TOGC, you can probably do everything sort of the end wing bosses (Saurfang, Blood Queen, Putricide, Sindragosa and Lich King) on the first reset - if you put in a bit of extra time to practice the mechanics. Exception might be Deathwhisper - its a chaotic fight where a lot can go wrong. Dreamwalker depends entirely on your healers being able to fly through hoops effectively, and having strong off-spec healers to keep everyone else alive - otherwise isn't too bad of a progression fight.

you must have toggled HC - you had to have done normal since HC is almost impossible right now. requires a near perfect raid comp and 100+ pulls of practice

always does without the new gear, but the new tier should help a lot. fights only get shorter with better dps gear too

For the mana you must play blood elf : arcane torrent gives you 2% of your mana, plus intellect and mp5 gems aren't bad for disc, same for the food and flask if you know that the combat is more longer. You also have shadowfiend and hymn of hope. It only absorb dmg with shield in aoe. For tanks you have penance, greater heal, flash heal, prayer of mending and binding heal. It doesn't beat the other class healing due to a less stats and bonus healing on those spells than an holy priest

same with resto druid. watching the shaman and hpal die every pull makes me feel nice. i used to be the guy that died every pull, but now i literally never die lol. the mechanics are so easy if you have instant cast spells. learn them and your guild will think you are a god

for 10man 100% yes, almost every successful 10man runs that. unfortunate, that's why 10man has some criticism when it becomes the focus in cata. some specs just don't do well in 10man

If u OOM as disc priest ur doing something wrong. I have seen disc priest returning up to 37k mana at once on Algalon.

if you time your shields correctly you won't go oom, but disc still has mana issues. even the good discs I see still need innervate

something to keep in mind about rshaman is the unfortunate amount of fights where the raid has to spread out. ive completed the raid on PTR on my rshaman and it doesn't feel great tbh (as a filthy chain heal spammer). on the edge of mainswapping to resto druid

very good point, though resto druid suffers the same fate. my trick is to mostly wild growth the melee since they are usually stacked. ranged just end up dying more often than melee as a result, it's very frustrating

I mained hpally in the original wotlk. I gapped the next healers by 10%+. But it's boring af. 90% tank healing, 10% spot healing. Easy to sot 100th percentile.

it's boring but also high stress, would you agree? so many relevant CDs, and if you stop healing for one second the tank dies. it's considered easy, but it's not that easy. probably my least favorite spec in any version of classic so far, it's frustrating but i will improve

Druids will be just as good in ICC as in TOGC. Good at the start, irrelevant in a few weeks with gear. Disc also gets significantly stronger this phase than the increase in TOGC, which cuts into every other healer hps.

That's 100% accurate imo. Druid is a progression healer, but that's ok. I'd rather help during progression and fall off at the end. That's when you cut healers anyways. Disc scaling is better because t10 is a huge jump up in stats plus they get a true bis weapon that is better/equal to valanyr

as a Val wielding 6.2k Gs Rdruid that progs every week, yes, we have fallen down the ladder as weeks pass and other healers get more gear. Not to say i don't pump now, but it's definitely a competition to stay near the top of the charts on most fights.

why disc A tier and higher than holy. the things you mentioned like bigger gear jump dont really matter because other healers will raise their gear to the same level. also valynyr didnt really count either since it mostly went to 1 holy pally and the rest didnt get it.

disc is 100% necessary for raids whereas hpriest can be replicated with resto druid or sham. hpriest scales better than disc but ultimately most of the relevant healing moments come in the first 8 weeks of progression. endgame you probably just bring hpal/disc/shaman anyways and maybe dual spec resto druid / boomkin.

You cannot compare any healer to a Disc priest, because Disc is shielding, not healing. Being able to provide 10k shields, means that temporary you provide the raid with 10k more HP. The gear scaling has also different weights on healers versus shields. Any heal that gets lets say a buff of +100 spellpower might overheal the target, but shielding will simply provide a stronger shield so no value is lost. Also holy priests are inferior to any other healer because they are lacking a core role. They are very flexible true, they can adjust on every fight either the renew spam or single-target heals via Serendipity, or on scripted fights with pre-casting PoH. But they do not excel in one specific role; they are almost as good as rdudu and almost as good as shammans and hpals. "Almost" is not good enough though. This video is showcasing the top A tier which are indeed Disco / Pala and Shamman which I believe this trio will dominate ICC once your guild is confident to run 4heal fights or even 3heal. Only fight that HPriest would be good is on Valithria to GS her.

Disc provides something nobody else can provide. Everything you said is true. The shields are mandatory for every boss fight, they also provide additional health/survivability whether you are at 1 health or 30k health. Unlike the rest of the healers you can't really overheal with disc, it's just useful 100% of the time. Hpriest is great , everything they bring to the table is good. The argument for hpriest is that they do the druid role better than druid. I believe by the end of the expansion that will be the case. However for most fights we'll likely see 4 healing in speedruns by the endgame and it'll be shaman/2hpal/disc. Then dual spec boomkin/resto druid, it's very convenient@@sunboyplus

Yep, agree. I do believe that Hpriest can do a better job than rdudu but it all comes down to battle ress versus Divine Hymn (Innervate too but priest also has mana hymn). As for off-spec, shadow priest and holy priest both have similar gear so it's kinda the same with boomie/rdudu.@@NOHITJEROME

Early on druid wins out with battle rez imo because everyone dies to random mechanics. Hpriest undoubtedly scales better and you need less brez's in the true endgame. After 8+ weeks I'd rather have holy priest for sure and dual spec shadow priest is a nice bonus@@sunboyplus

From my experience on PTR, raid damage in ICC is very "chunky" or bursty rather than smoothed out over time (think HM IC and HM Twin Valks). Holy paladin healing is unmatched in these fights because of the power of holy light spam. Also, paladins are able to get more mana back on longer fights which leads to further holy light spam. Yes, many fights require a lot of movement which is a holy paladin's weakness but I still think they are unbeatable, especially on fights like Saurfang, Valithria, and LK. Either way I think almost every healer has a fight they excel at which is something I think you hinted at. @@NOHITJEROME

yep icc tank damage is bursty, hpals are 100% required for it. one note I didn't fit in the video is that most strats just allow the hpal to not move. everyone accepts that the hpal is the rock of the team. for example on festergut we stack the spore on top of the hpal. we work around the hpal, not the resto shaman, not the hpriest, etc

Hi Kris, hope the videos are going great. Like the commenter below, my theory is that paladin is the difference between the tank being comfortably alive the whole pull and there being high risk of tank death. No other healer can comfortably keep the tank alive like hpal. With hpal, you simply set them and forget them, it's one part of the raid you rarely have to worry about. Then their utility is so high too, dsac, salvation, aura mastery. Infinite mana too. Their role is just not really replaceable by other healers

Exactly. Hpal is only good because they keep the tank alive. If you have a good hpal, you never have to worry about the tank dying ever. The real challenge of ICC (other than LK which I haven't killed yet) is having enough raid healing. The hpals cover tanks perfectly already in my experience even with current ToC gear. It's insane how comfortably and easily they can keep tanks alive@@teamlabam

Beacon is the single reason why hpal is so good, with out it they would just be tbc hpals but woth infinite mana. If there is 2 hpals in the raid, and only one tank is taking dmg, then the hpals are going to snipe each other on the tank. I can only beat other healers if the tank is taking dmg and im the only hpal or the beacon is split. Lord jaraxis is a perfect example, mt takes no dmg and off tank only takes dmg when the add is up so hpal gets destroyed.

there is a reason why no serious guild play resto druid, bc it sucks yooooooo, restoshaman succeeds on aoe heal except when theres pointless healing of constant low dmg and the hastecap is irrelevant bc it doesnt affect chainheal, the best spell shaman has. resto druid did suck but it doesn't suck now. wild growth buff is huge and the nature of the fights is very different, we never really had fights with the whole raid taking damage and everyone being stacked up before. maybe algalon, but that's really a tank heal / shield the whole raid with disc / hpal fight. these are routinely fights where everyone is losing health all the time in a relatively close proximity

I've seen trauma is good on resto shaman, but in my (private) testing I didn't see the proc being a difference maker. It procs randomly before the fight more often than not. Val'anyr also has a much higher ilvl than it did back in the day, Maybe it ends up being better than trauma@@getmeoffthisplanet4357
