Additional thoughts: 1: Metro stops: There are two with the word Louvre; "Louvre-Rivoli" and "Palais Royale - Musee du Louvre." The Louvre-Rivoli station was designed to look like the interior of the museum, but don't use this stop. Use the Palais Royale stop. 2: Louvre is open until 9:45 PM on Wednesday and Friday nights. GO THEN!!! I usually go at 6:00PM. By 7:30, there are no crowds. And you get spectacular shots of the Pyramid at night from inside the museum.

This is such a great video~ thanks! You didn't mention the Porte des Lions- could you please comment on it? I've read that it is quieter, that you need to already have a ticket to use it, and that it isn't always open/available. I like the 'quieter' part!

Guys I really would like to say thanks, I'll be visiting the Louvre in June and your video was exactly what I was looking for! So helpful and well explained! What I can see from your video is that the "official" entrance and ticket check is done downstairs, correct? I already bought my ticket so I'm planning to use the Carrousel entrance to avoid the Pyramid as I'm limited in time! In normal conditions, how much time before my scheduled entrance (9 am) should I arrive? I really hope you can help me out and thanks a lot again!

Tahnks for sharing line and access information. Got a couple of questions 1. Do you know that if I have the paris museum pass (obviously I must book an online reservation even If i have the pass) can I enter by the carrousel entrance? 2. If not, is there any is a specific waiting line for paris museum pass holders at the main entrance?
@LamourdeParisPhotographers
@LamourdeParisPhotographers 10 ай бұрын
Thanks for your question. This is what I found on the Paris museum pass website: To book a time slot: log on to ticketlouvre.fr, select "Visitors with a Paris Museum Pass", choose the day and time of your visit, and indicate your name and your PMP number. You can then download a QR code that will get you through the first checkpoint at the entrance to the Pyramide du Louvre (the only way to get in). You will then need to show your PMP at the various checkpoints in the museum, located under the Pyramid. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for this. We have already purchased our tickets for our trip. We're on for 0900, but I read that the Carrosel doesn't open until 1000. Can we still use that entrance?

That’s a really good question. I would think so. My guess is that the shops and restaurants in the carousel don’t open until 10h but the louvre entrance should be good. Hope it works and let us know!

Good question! It depends mainly on weather. If it’s bad weather than certainly go underground. If it’s nice weather then above ground should be just fine. You can always check out the ground level line for your time slot and if it seems long then head underground. Thanks for watching!!!

For the info. What you all tell there about the royal family leaving from the Louvre and under the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel & Arc de Triomphe is not correct. These did not exist when it was a royal palace. Both triumphal arches were commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte.
@LamourdeParisPhotographers
@LamourdeParisPhotographers 5 ай бұрын
Hey there, thanks for watching! You're correct that the Arc de Triomphe did not exist, but the first one apparently did: The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel was built between 1806 and 1808 as the entrance to the Palais des Tuileries. With the disappearance of the palace, the Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel became the main landmark of the Place du Carrousel. It was commissioned in 1806 to commemorate Napoleon's military victory the year before ( the Battle of Austerlitz ). The more famous Grand Arc de Triomphe was also designed in the same year, but it took thirty years to complete and was about twice as large. For those that enjoy historical accuracy and not how to find the bathrooms at the Louvre, check out jplylly's channel!

@@LamourdeParisPhotographers That is what I mean in my comment, Not Royal Family. But Imperial family , ;) big difference. Oh en don't forget, at that time. The Louvre was enclosed so the Arc was standing on a courtyard. Palace of the tuileries burned down in 1871.

Good question. So many people thank us for the amount of detail we provide in our videos but admittedly we are trying to strike a balance. And since the videos can be sped up it gives those the option with less time to watch it more quickly. Thanks for watching!
