Hello, I’m new to your channel. So glad I found you. We have the same iron, I’ve had my Oreck for almost 25 years. Your Maxine kitty is so beautiful, my daughter has one exactly the same color as yours, his name is King. I get to baby sit him while my daughter is away in Spain for the summer. Then I noticed your other kitty, you’re not going to believe it but I had one too, he passed away last year, I miss my Sonny. Also, I noticed that you can cut with your left and right hands, nice!

This is a great quilt but more I like the fact that even with a couple variations you Redid them and it turned out awesome. Even using “Jack” just reinforces our mistakes are fixable and don’t really change end result of a quilt . You reinforce the need to follow the basics of cutting and measuring, the pressing and not ironing and watching out seams. Thanks for this tutorial

I love a good chevron!! I also skim because the numbers and fractions and words make my head spin. I know it’s the standardized way they write quilt patterns, but honestly, it’s so hard to get through them. I would rather have a diagram of the block and a measurement of each piece noted rather than these long lists of instructions they all present. 🙃 I’m much better with visuals than with all those words and fractions. And if it has 7/8” measures, I’m going up to the full inch. Or I skip that pattern altogether. I know it’s “quilt math” but honestly….😂 i generally want to see yardage requirements, then I add a little for over cutting and possible mistakes. But after that, please just show me the block and give me dimensions for the sizes. I would rather reverse engineer it than go through those endless lines of instructions. Hope the show was fun!!! ❤

Okay April, just laughing with you here. Did you have an English teacher in high school that passed out a test saying 'read all instructions before going forward '. Funny thing is the end said print your name at the top, then turn it down. You are done. LOL go on press your fabric, layers are better pressed, and big wow is to press out the center folder off the bolt. I know you know, you were in a hurry, however I'll bet the time saved cost you several times overall. Love your "show " a great big Texas hug.
