That was a nice show-off for HDR video. The fog showed how the extra two bits of intensity information per color lets you see ghost trees that just barely reveal themselves. Lights out, night time, so very very little excess light lets this monitor and the video shine. Thanks. I think I have it nicely dialed in now. {^_^}

The extra 2 bits should also give nicer gradient especially in the sky when the sun is visible. Let's hope youtube will provide a higher bitrate for HDR soon, because now the SDR version has a higher bitrate. Just like back then with the 5K vs. 4K, remember?

Wat me opvalt is hoe klein en spaarzaam de snelheidsbordjes zijn. Zeker zo 's morgens, met lage zon (en slaap in de ogen?) lijken ze me makkelijk te missen. In de auto op de snelweg mis ik ook wel eens een bord en ben dan blij dat ze dan nog een keer herhaalt worden. Of hebben jullie digitale informatie en hulpmiddelen in de cockpit die die bordjes bijna overbodig maken?

We hebben examen moeten afleggen voor alle trajecten, waarbij je vlekkeloos moet opnoemen waar er welke snelheden gelden. De bordjes lijken klein omdat alle andere objecten zo groot zijn, maar ze zijn net zo groot als de verkeersborden langs de weg.

Ik rijd niet overal de maximum snelheid. Inderdaad, het oppervlak is in dit geval inclusief wateroppervlakken, terwijl de dichtheid is gebaseerd op enkel landoppervlak. Ik heb het voor toekomstige videos, die dus na vandaag zijn gefilmd, aangepast. Bedankt voor de tip!

These views certainly make it worth getting up early on a mid-May morning. And, yes, I did get to sleep in that morning. however, allowing for time zones I worked out that I got to bed just as you were getting up. At the time this was recorded you had had a few hours to chase away the cobwebs, but I suspect that few, if any, of the passengers you swept up were in as 'ready for work' condition. At the end I was sos busy watching the Thalys turn into a double Thalys I missed you getting the amber to enter Amsterdam Centraal.

Your potted histories of various stations and lines generate questions, most of which I manage to answer by myself. This one I haven't. Did the former line which had the 1st station at Nieuw Vennep connect with the 1st station at Hoofddorp? Was it closed when the Schipol line opened? Did it then connect to the 1st station at Amsterdam Sloterdijk?

Yes, no - earlier, no. These first stations of these two towns were part of the Haarlemmermeer Railway. This local network connected to the main railway line at 5 locations. Long after this railway was almost entirely closed, the line between Schiphol and Leiden was realized, and Nieuw-Vennep and Hoofddorp had a station again. Superbe réalisation !!! By 2030, Amsterdam Central Station will no longer be the station for international rail traffic to and from the capital. It will be Amsterdam-Zuid. Anyone traveling from London or Paris to Amsterdam with the Eurostar from 2030 will no longer arrive in the heart of the city, but in the south. Since the United Kingdom left the European Union, travelers have had to go through customs at the train station. More space will be created in the new terminal. This means that in the future, 600 passengers instead of the current 350 will be able to travel by train. Among other things, the terminal of Eurostar, the international train to London, has been moved twice. This could prove necessary if the renovation of Amsterdam Central Station takes longer. Although the location is suitable for the very large number of tourists who can explore the city directly from the station, it is far from the offices and workplaces of the Dutch people who travel there. The old terminal is expected to disappear completely by 2024, but the new one may not be ready yet. A temporary location was initially sought for the period 2024 to 2027. From then on, the new terminal should be operational and used until at least 2036. Amsterdam Zuid station will then be ready for international traffic near this new area tertiary called Zuidas. It will become one of the largest economic hubs in the Netherlands, with direct connections from Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Utrecht and Cologne. A source confirmed by Norbertsteinkamp 9380 To make way for Eurostar trains, the station will have a fifth and a sixth track, which will cost the central and regional governments a staggering sum of 200 million euros. Further expansion of the railways in the capital is necessary as the number of travelers in the Amsterdam area is expected to increase significantly in the coming years. In addition, the number of tracks at Amsterdam Central Station will be reduced, but not the number of platforms. As the current platforms are too narrow given the expected increase in the number of passengers from 200,000 to 275,000 per day in 2030, it is planned to remove the middle of the three tracks between two platforms. This reduces the capacity of the station, because trains located on two platforms at the same time can no longer run on the middle track. This is also one of the reasons why international connections go through Amsterdam Zuid WTC. As I recently heard from an acquaintance who was an Amsterdam city planner during his active career, a way has now been found to manage London-bound Eurostar travelers during the renovation transition period . Initially, there was concern that this connection would not work to and from Amsterdam Central for an extended period of time.

Is it just me or....the ticket prices are so expensive. Approx. 10.00 Eur one way-38km. If you go to work and back it's Eur 400.00 a month. Car would be 3x cheeper, than train.
