honestly thought this would be another low-grade video like so many others, but was pleasantly surprised, Like the accumulator before the washing machine was a clever and simple idea that solved an issue. The little card and sticky tape for carper corner was also a nice quick little trick for perfectly square corners. Sure there are other ways to fix things, but *THIS* is the kind of creativity the world needs more of for cheap but effective work-arounds to practical problems.

The second project has some faults to it. For one, it looks like you're letting water come out of 2 sections, which you should have one pipe set to a drainage system where the unusable water with the leaves and bugs in it will be filtered out or at the least put into a drainage ditch. The bucket of clean water will get contaminated with rust from the iron after enough time. A plastic mesh would be more effective in this case. I am tempted to put some of these into work, but I know plastic doesn't rust, where metals do rust. I kinda want to make some modifications to your existing ideas though... I would also advise to use a larger means of storing collected water for later use, just in case. Or a means of draining the water from your large filter into multiple buckets, as there is cause for concern for considering it wrong to waste water. A larger means of collecting rain water to minimize your need for using cold water from plumbing.

I’m sorry but no. The system with the bottle and pipes creates a siphon. The water level will rise in the bottle and oncce it is high enough in the bottle it will flow into the siphon. This creates suction. So once the water gets into the siphon it will suck water out of the gutter through the siphon. This works only if the water-level gets too high

I still don't understand the interest @@tipsunknow One time debris are caught in the gutter, it need to go out sometimes... Also gutter are large, normal evacuation pipes are _also large_ to ensure proper evacuation of everything.. It seems that this system will clog easily, cant be unclogged easily, now you glued eveything... (Normal syphon are openable easily..) So ok maybe no smell inside the pipe because of the water syphon, but normal gutter evacuation doesn't smell, as any organic materials are evacuated / didn't enter with the help of a mesh preventing materials to accumulate in the gutter... Still mysterious for me .. ^^🤔

They don't work. they are concepts which appeal to apartment dwellers or people who are impressed by complexity and ignorant of practicalities. -The laundry tank water storage holding pipe will not drain any faster than the faucet, as it is under a vacuum. -The large water bottle catchment will clog up in two minutes. Also, you should direct all water away from foundations, As well, disaster drilling into wall that far. Water will enter. Are these abandoned buildings you're destroying just for youtube ad revenue? -The gutter siphon doesn't even solve any problem you have with drainage because your pipes are fine and run clear already, and the device will only get blocked by the first leaf. Although seemingly clever, what is called in engineering "a solution looking for a problem."

great ideas, but i have 2 enhancements. 1. don't use superglue to glue PVC pieces. use the proper plumber's cement. i figure that since PVC is available in your area, the plumber's cement should be as well. 2. on the 1st project where he's making better water flow for his washer, putting the shut-off after his invention was a good idea, but he should have left the shut-off valve in-line before his invention. having 2 shut-offs (one before and one after) makes working on the system easier with less water waste. if only one shut-off is available, then he should have left it before the unit. this would cause less water waste when he has to work on the system.

I knew about this kind of separators, but haven't thought about applying this to a down spout. The other stuff were only poorly executed quick-fixes. You dip the brush in the soapy water, bring it in contact with the dirty surface, apply light pressure and move the brush in a linear or circular fashion until the dirt comes off.If that doesn't do it, try some other cleaning agents like benzene, methylated spirits, chlorine cleaner or good old-fashioned scrubbing powder. If all else fails, there's always sandpaper, or a new washing machine.

Я тоже не врубился. Предположил, что за счёт столба воды, будет дополнительное всасывание в системе и НА КОРОТКОЕ время поток воды будет увеличен. Но эффект д.б. не особо значительным. Гипотетически в этом случае ещё можно додумать конструкцию для сельских вариантов, где воду накачивают из колодцев в накапливаемые ёмкости. Тогда будет создаваться столб давления и можно использовать стиралку автомат, где давление необходимо в 2 атмосферы (если не ошибаюсь). Но чтобы создать такое давление, нужен либо нагнетатель, включающийся с открытием клапана, либо ёмкость типа водонапорной башни метров под 30-40.

Pretty cool ideas, more of concepts to a larger project if needed... I can tell you don't use tools for your living or gainful employment. This is painfully obvious with your last hack for using a hacksaw flush against a wall at 8:17. Notice the ends of the blade tensioning mechanism, they can be rotated so the blade can be used in different orientations, even reverse. So you had the hack right up until you involved a couple screws and a piece of wood.

​@@tipsunknow No I've never considered it, that is why I was impressed. But they would not be cost effective for me nor would they go with my home. I figure they are only cost effective for commercial application or if you were going to collect drinking water from roof rain runoff. Plus, if one is going to collect roof runoff then a metal roof needs to be paired, like you did, with the stainless gutters. Asphalt shingles would be self defeating in that application. And where I live insurance companys do NOT like metal roofs due to hail damage claims when metal roofs get dimples from hail. They give lower rates for asphalt hurricane shingles.

@@tipsunknow WInd Teflon in the same direction as the hose bib threads. As if you are screwing it on. This way when you screw the parts together, it pulls the end of the tape in the same direction as the parts are moving. (If you do it the other way, you are pushing the end of the tape backwards.)

А я что-то не просёк идеи 1-й конструкции со стиралкой. За счёт чего вода активнее начинает литься? Ведь сколько входит в трубу из системы столько и будет выходить. Т.е. ничего не должно было поменяться с первым вариантом. Или столб воды под своим весом будет создавать дополнительный всасывающий эффект. Но это будет на короткое время, видимо. И не настолько большая д.б. разница. Короче, я не понял фишки.

Стиральная машина за раз быстро наполнится и начнётся цикл стирки, пока он идёт, расширительный бак успеет наполниться слабым напором воды к моменту полоскания. Неплохое решение, но лучше решить проблему с напором и стиральную машинку посовременнее (у моей есть датчик набора воды, она не начнёт цикл стирки, пока не наполнится даже таким слабым напором)

We use a plastic bucket and then we cut it at 45 degree and place a piece of wire mesh over the 45 degree cut off. Then we drill a hole in the bottom of the plastic bucket and push a pipe into the hole. We seal the pipe properly and the other side of the pipe goes back into the water tank/bucket. the pipe from the roof now empties into the bucket through the 34 degree mesh. So any leaves that come from the roof just slides off the 45 degree cut off and the water passes through the mesh minus the leaves and the water goes into the water tank. Once you see it works well, you can add water filtration into the bucket, from rocks at the bottom to fine sand at the top, and even add a UV light to kill all pathogens in the water making it clean and very safe to drink. search for this words 90mm Leaf Eater Original Rain Head and see what it looks like.

re gutter leaves: if your leaves are carried down the drainpipe, that means water is not being blocked to begin with. You have great big holes and pipes which is better than small holes which clog quickly making more money for the gutter cleaner. It's even actually better to remove the little drain strainers. Well, around coniferous trees anyway; larger deciduous leaves can still plug the hole. But then, you have installed large holes and large pipes- which is always better because it simply allows debris to flow out. Although your device is very neat, good thinking, but it will clog when the first big leaf covers the hole. The only thing which keeps leaves away from blocking the gutter downspout drain hole is a wedge ramp shaped strainer product about a foot long, in metal or plastic. Don't let the builders drill tiny downspout holes with tiny little strainers built into the reducing adapter to the down-pipe. Rip out those ridiculously small strainers at least and just let the debris have a chance to clear the hole and go down. They are only to be left if the water goes into an underground catchment system. And where I live(BC Canada) they are not allowed any longer because they clog up anyway no matter what you do to try to stop debris. A bit of gravel detaching from the asphalt roof always gets hosed down the drainpipe by gutter cleaners no matter how much is collected manually.

Hmm... I think the first guy made it over complicated. I'm on a well. I'd have simply made it like a well tank rather than bothering with the pipe going up. Basically, put a solid cap on the top. Attach the big pipe with a t at the bottom. Water pressure will force water into the big pipe, compressing the air inside. Once the air pressure matches the pipe pressure, flow stops. When the washing machine starts, the pressure will drop, and water will leave the tank for the washer. When the washer stops drawing water, it'll fill back up. One potential modification would be to glue in a schrader valve and a PSI gauge. Hell, for what he spent, he could have probably just bought a expansion tank with a bladder.

@@tipsunknowI have one on my well now, that's how I know about them. In my case it's used to keep the well pump from rapid cycling, which is bad for them. I have no difficulties with my washing machine or anything else, because my lines were run with sufficiently sized pipe, so one tank handles everything. It's so common that there are commercial tanks for the purpose. Mine is actually oversized for my pump, but it just provides more protection, and water pressure in a power outage where my pump won't work. For the washing machine setup, I'd be concerned that it wouldn't last through the fill cycle because of vacuum buildup - basically, there has to be something to expand in the tank for the water to leave. Ever seen had a cup upside down full of water with it remaining there even with most of it exposed, only sealed in more water at the bottom? The air can escape through the pipe up top. It can also dissolve into the water, which is why modern systems tend to use a bladder or you have a valve so you can refill with pressurized air.

@@tipsunknow 4:32 вы используете термопистолет. Когда дождя не будет, солнце нагреет клеевой состав, он размякнет и стечёт вниз. Соответственно решётка со временем под тяжестью листьев и напора воды просядет и мусор будет попадать во вторую камеру. Нужно использовать клей, который не плавится на солнце. На крайний случай можно герметиком для зазоров на автомобиле воспользоваться. Ну или как вариант: у вас в центре решётки остались лепестки металла, вы их прикрутите в к центральной трубе. А если рационализаторское предложение хотите услышать, то я бы поставил в сливную трубу вал с лопастями. Когда вода текла, она бы крутила маленький мотор/генератор с выходным напряжением 5 вольт. От него можно было бы зарядить небольшие светодиодные фонари (к примеру над входной дверью или освещение дорожек в саду). К "генератору" подключите контроллер заряда

А иногда простые задачи, имеющие простые решения, почему-то начинают решать сложными способами - типа продетого через ручку кружки шнура телефона к адаптеру зарядки, который просто обрезают ножницами вместо того, чтобы выдернуть его из телефона и спокойно вытащить из "плена". Короче говоря, многие уникальные проекты лайфхаков требуется проверять на здравый смысл, а не делать их ради того чтобы просто сделать. Например, в примере с водосточным сливом совершенно не важно в каком месте листья забьют слив, старый или новый с лайфхаком, если они не убираются из водостока - в таком случае надо придумать систему улавливания листьев и мусора из воды и извлечение их наружу из стока, используя хотя бы ту же самую силу стекающей воды.
