I recall Gatlinburg as a small town, with just a few motels, in 1969. It was an interesting place, but I have no idea where our parents were. I remember checking into a motel, about 2 weeks or 3, before the moon landing. Our parents had a room, and my 2 sisters and baby brother had a room. He was 3, I was 12, my sisters were 13, and 16. The room had a kitchenette, in which I prepared some food, and there was a small restaurant at which I could charge food to y parents room. There was a pool, where I kept the baby entertained, but my parents were nowhere until the nights, very late.
