Finding a surprise French Flea Market Brocante | French Antiquing Road Trip Adventure VLOG
In today's VLOG, Mark & I continue our French antiquing road trip and unexpectedly stumble upon a delightful French flea market (brocante) in Chartres. We thought we'd seen all the antiques the town had to offer, but just opposite the boulangerie where Mark grabbed his morning croissant, we discovered this small, hidden gem of a flea market. Despite its size, it was packed with excellent vintage finds and antiques. We quickly spent our remaining euros, but it's a good excuse to come back for more!
After exploring the Chartres flea market, we made our way to the picturesque seaside town of Le Touquet, treating ourselves to a lovely hotel on our last night. This French antiquing road trip was filled with incredible brocante treasures, and we can’t wait to share it with you. Le Touquet has been a happy last night on many antiquing adventures. That was the first time in that hotel though. We will definitely go back.

Le Touquet is a wonderful place to end a trip. We love staying there for one night on our way home.

Louisa, the hotel room is quite austere. Luckily, it was just for one night. The room in Le Touguet was much better and with a balcony with a sea view. What could be better? It looks like you had a lovely trip to France. 😊

I always love Le Touquet in the quiet season. Did you know our president Macron has a villa in Le Touquet? But I bet your balcony view was much better 😊 Can't wait to see what you have bought in France. Have a great weekend.

It's definitely nicer out of season. I didn't know that about Macron. We looked at the house prices in Le Touquet - they are hugely expensive 😳

Your room was so sparse, it reminded me of a nun's room! Basic at it's best I think. At least the sheets looked clean, as did your tiny shower room. What a difference in your hotel room right by the sea! Wonderful. Thank you for taking us with you, and for all the great camera shots. It was a bit too sparse for me. I do like a little bit of comfort, even in a basic room 😊 We blew our basic budget on the last one, but it was worth it 😊

Single beds are an absolute no no. This is the first time we have ever compromised on the bed situation for location. Never again!

How much per night was the undesirable hotel?

With city tax it cost us about £82 for the night. We knew it was a budget hotel but it was a little too austere & basic for me.
