I loved the people you met in this episode. The boy who focused on helping you fix the tire delaying his birthday party - a truly good Samaritan. And I absolutely got a kick out of the older lady who couldn't get over meeting the 2 of you as you just happened to be riding down the country road by her home. She truly was blessed by your visit! I bet she'll be telling that story for the rest of her life.

Those are the experiences that change a person for the better. To experience such exceptional kindness in others is truly humbling.

Big respect to James and Morgan Light for stopping to help, and the nice older couple for providing water to hot and thirsty bicyclists. What a nice birthday wish for a 10 year old to have. His dad looks like he is raising a kind and thoughtful person.

Yes, I'm sure his poppa was suitably proud.

More beautiful country. Nice camp spot then the shock of hitting a city. Another great video. Thank you and take care, Al

Another gooder. Watched it after an exhausting 20 km rocky trail ride with about 500m (1500ft) elev. gain, so got home cracked a beer and then your video popped up. Fortuitous. Love it.

Thanks for the reminder to carry pliers! I just added them to my equipment list for my dream cross country ride in 2025. Just have to get through a hip replacement, lose a lot of weight and build a new chemical plant… then I am free to ride!

that couple you got water from is precious and the fellow stoping after his kid wanted him to go back and help you both is the stuff why bicycle touring is so dear to me....glad to see that you recognized that riding at night in unfamiliar roads is for the birds...I have done it many times but I had a few close calls like in Arkansas...it was a very stressful day and made me realize that it is better to stop somewhere and get settle in and ride during day light when I can be seeing and others can see me. Great stuff and you are both a lovely couple. loving your videos...already saw the France one and it was amazing. Cheers....

Well thank you so much Canica99! Yep, the folks in Southern Indiana were real gems. I absolutely loved it through there, and such amazing scenery as well! Bike touring is much better the more you learn to avoid the pitfalls (bad roads, traffic, traveling at night, etc.)

Wow, definitely some beautiful countryside. That campsite was so serene. I was a little surprised by those rolling hills because the only parts of Indiana I've ever known are quite flat. You had some particularly kind trail angels in this episode. Definitely warms the heart. This has become a greatly anticipated Friday night tradition. I'm especially excited to see you arrive in Cincinnati!

Cincinnati is coming soon! So glad you're enjoying them! Southern Indiana, from Brown County south, is pretty hilly, feels like Appalachia to me.

I knew you were on the Milwaukee rail trail when I see you crossing that lil covered bridge @ 16:00 . The trail runs from Bedford to Williams Dam as an out and back trail. Ridden it many times. Rail trails are great as the hills are long and gradual instead of steep !!!

Yes, it definitely takes the edge off of the climbing. But the roads through there, although brutal, were beautiful.

As the miles passed, it became more and more apparent that going west to east is definitely the way to go. We had so many great tailwinds on our trip!

The lil County road you're on with the Beauty Red barn @ 20:07 is only about 3 miles from my home. The back end of that barn has been deteriorating for several years now with each year taking more and more of a toll on her. Such a shame to watch her go to ruin.

Black wall tires keeps the air in much better in than with tan side walls together with tyre sealant. I would have used Schwalbe marathon almotion on a trip like this.

Hills and headwinds, guaranteed to slowdown and burnout a cyclist, especially with a fully loaded bike. I'll take that camp site you found any day over a hotel.

Absolutely. It was a very lucky find. And such a beautiful memory. I barely remember any hotels, let alone fondly.
