Discovering Beijing. Zhongshan Park

Memory moment. 6th May 2020. Back to Tian’anmen Square to get into the Zhongshan park, adjacent to the Forbidden City. The Park was a former imperial altar and now a public park housing numerous pavilions, gardens, and imperial temples such as therAltar of Land and Grain where the emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties made offerings to the gods of earth and agriculture. After the 1911 revolution the altar grounds became a public park and in 1928 named after Sun Yat Sen (Zhongshan Park), in memory of China's first revolutionary political leader.
