I was just about to say that i basicly hate the taste of polkagris. My earliest memories about it is from early 80´s as i lived in Tensta Stockholm with my mom. I was only two years old but i still remember that i tried to eat it becouse it was candy. Those were smaller bits that were in candy bag. But the better memorie is when i first time tated bilar. OMG those tasted good. Those church walls from the inside looks much like in Riala church. My aunt died last fall and i went there for the burial. The pastor surpriced us all as he spoke Swedis and Finnish at the service. He had learned in my home village Kälviä in Finland. Also my aunt lived there with her seven siblings as they were kids. But no-one of us didn´t knew that he has been there too. Well porcelain propably would be more interesting than in Gustavsberg. One of my moms brother used to live there too. They were living in some old red wooden house that used to be a small churc. I spend about week there as i were exploring Stockholm 2001. Other week i spend at my aunts house in Riala. Ha ha, the beer was first thing that came to my mind from Mariestad. Some American youtuber that makes or made videos about Sweden lived in Örebro. I just doesn´t remember who it was.

Haha, happy to hear that I'm not alone in disliking polkagris. Probably learned to dislike it at the same age as you. And that's so cool about Kälviä! But damn, it sounds like you've been around a lot you too - nice that you've visited so many small and interesting places. Oh, sorry no idea about who that youtuber is! I guess I should keep more up to date on content others do :D

@@ThreeStarVagabond Well there isn´t much too see in Riala. Basic countryside of Sweden. I don´t know how much people is in Gustavsberg but it seemed very peaceful place. I liked Fisksätra too even that it reminded alot of Pripjat for all the massive concrete appartment buildings. Nature were still close and there were nice swimming place close by at the Saltsjöbadens golf club. There is lake Lundsjön and there is nice rocks where to sunbathe and swim. One day there were also two gorgeous blonds sunbathing topless 😁. For me being 16 or 17 it made great memory for future 😂.

Hi Miro, first of all congrats for your channel! I'm a 21 yo Italian guy and next week I'm travelling solo to Stockholm (it'll be my first time in Sweden and I'm really excited since it was the country I wanted to visit the most!). I watched all your videos about the Swedish capital and I found them absolutely great and extremely useful, but since I'll be there alone I'd like to ask you how may I meet new people once I'll be there without seeming a creep or the classic "loud" Italian, cause I know Swedish people tend to be a bit reserved, at least at first! P. S. I can speak some Swedish and I'm studying it, can it help?
@ThreeStarVagabond2 ай бұрын
Hope you'll have an awesome time in Stockholm! Now, as for meeting people... To be honest, your best bet is to go to pubs and places like that, because Swedes really open up more when drunk. I personally like Södermalm (around the Medborgarplatsen subway station). And if people have had a few beers you don't have to worry about being a loud Italian - then they'll all (most of them at least) just like it. So the best of luck to you and happy holidays!

I have been to Graenna and have eaten polkagris candy. I have always wondered if the word for this candy had anything to do with pigs (gris). The Swedish word for the dance "polka" is "polska." That's too bad. Were it not for that, we could have this wonderful image in our heads of dancing pigs!
@ThreeStarVagabond2 ай бұрын
Haha, that would have been a nice mental image! But the name actually just comes from polka being a popular dance around the 1800s, and it sounded hip and modern. And gris (pig) was used as a pet name for sweets of all kinds. Thus, polkagris.

Hmm, giant potato, giant geese eggs, and last week a giant duck-pig, I'm seeing a pattern here, my theory is the swedish government is expecting an invasion by very large aliens, and they want to pacify them with suitable food left around the country. Also, when you say you love 1950's design in that restaurant, are you pledging allegiance to the Raggare? 😊 Great video, i honestly didn't know how pretty Sweden is.
