@isatousarr7044Ай бұрын
The impact of this discovery extends far beyond astrophysics. It has led to new technologies in precision measurement and has spurred international collaborations in research and development. Future detections, especially from more advanced observatories like LIGO, Virgo, and the planned LISA (Laser Interferometer Space Antenna), will help unlock even deeper mysteries of the cosmos, such as the nature of black holes, the behavior of neutron stars, and the properties of space and time at their most fundamental levels. The study of gravitational waves is set to revolutionize our understanding of the universe and contribute to the broader field of fundamental physics.

Hey Brian, as a new fan of yours I just watched your podcast with Joe Rogan -Hope your back is feeling better. I have to say, my desire to understand some of the fundamentals of Physics has always felt blocked by my lack of formal math training, and I cannot begin to say just how much I appreciate how accessible you have made the subject for me, or how much more empowered and confident I feel about my understanding of many important principles. It genuinely feels like a joy to feel as if I have a better intuition for some very counter intuitive ideas, and not being able to do the Lorentz Transformations has not in itself stopped me from gaining a better grasp of the magic science can show us.

"Fabric" is the blanket you extend on your bed. "Fields"? One of them is the up´s and down´s of the blanket wrinkles over the bed. Other field is the variations and tensions and compression forces in every point of the cloth sheet produced by the same wrinkles.

Wouldn't a proof of flat space distance conservation be in a metaphorical walk around a rigid equidistant cubic frame while measuring the distance walked from extreme corner to extreme corner along the (x,y then z) edges, if the rigid frame were to surround a black hole? Wouldn't it in fact mean the distance calculated from extreme corner to extreme corner through the center of the black hole would be the same as if there were no black hole contained within the volume of the frame? And as you say "If space could be a type of quanta" then couldn't distance as a mathematical measurement, in and of itself, be separated from space as an energetic substance?

Hello Prof Greene, if space time is quantized to Planck length size units in each dimension , can it be that between these quantized units hides a new grid like non local dimension which is responsible for the quantum non local entangled behavior? - Eran Sinbar
@dankuchar68214 жыл бұрын
There is no in between of those units. That's kind of the point. Putting anything into a space smaller than a plank unit would cause a black hole to form. A very small one, which one then evaporate very quickly. When you're down on the plank scale, things are very difficult to even talk about.
@eransinbar86284 жыл бұрын
@@dankuchar6821 The grid dimension is not limited to size . it can be as big and wide as you want .you can even have as many grid extra dimensions as you want side by side or one on top of the other .there can even be many quantized universes (worlds) not aware to each other connected to the same grid dimension (or dimensions) infra structure . the main issue is that we can measure and observe only the local quantized planck sized units of our universe and we cannot measure directly the extra grid non local dimension. We can be aware to it through the non local quantum behavior ("spooky action at a distance") but not by direct measurement (may be the first direct measurement of the grid extra dimension is the Higgs boson)

The mainstream understanding of god is incorrect. God is a word that describes transcended being. To transcend your being is the potential of all humans and therefore your potential is to become god within your existence. Your potential is in the future which is the unknown and is therefore everything as it has not yet been defined. Time and motion are forces of change; being moving forwards and upwards towards potential is an evolving journey. To evolve is to grow, to grow is to change. Embracing your potential is the point of existence and therefore being is fulfilled and meaningful. This is where the Schrödinger cat comes in... When being embraces is potential the soul has reached into the future to call forth what comes next. In doing so being must let go of what it was and allow it to be destroyed so that what it could be, has the space to come into existence. This is the sacrifice, the alive and dead cat, the resurrection (from the destruction and sealing of the passed), the Phoenix from the ashes. These are a few titbits of a much bigger story of the deeper truths of all that exists. Physical and non-physical, real and unreal....

The consciousness that extends outside the body Paramahansa calls "Super Consciousness". In this state you connect to other minds and have access to the 'grid'. Move like a speechless animal via the direct route. The Indian Yogi may access the state through meditation but it was drugs, by a family member (recently passed on) as a joke, through which I attained Super Consciousness more than six times.

If Alice falls into a black hole with a full set of the Schrodinger's cat experiment and she observes for the first time if the cat is dead or alive afters she falls through the event horizon towards the singularity , will Bob who is floating out side of the event horizon ever reconstruct her experiment result (her observation if the cat is dead or alive) through measuring the Hawking radiation or is this information lost forever? - Eran Sinbar
@dankuchar68214 жыл бұрын
Information can never be created or destroyed. That's one of the tenets of quantum mechanics. Your questions demonstrate that you have no idea what you're talking about.

@@dankuchar6821 So how can Bob ,waiting till the entire black hole evaporates due to Hawking radiation can ever reconstruct what Alice measured in her Schrodinger's cat experiment after she passed the event horizon? where did this information go? that is my question
@dankuchar68214 жыл бұрын
@@eransinbar8628 The current understanding is that the information is stored in the event horizon itself. The information actually never goes beyond the event horizon into the black hole, but is rather stored at the event horizon and then is irradiated out as hawking radiation. Theoretically, the information could be reconstructed. Although that would be an almost impossibly difficult task, but in theory it could be done. Information is never lost or destroyed according to quantum mechanics. If someone can prove this to be false, then quantum mechanics would need to be modified. It's a very intriguing question.

@dankuchar68214 жыл бұрын
Gravity waves would simply come out the other side of the wormhole and disperse similar to the way a lightweight would disperse coming out the other end. We don't know if other universes exist. We don't know if we're in holes lead to other universes. So a gravity way of going through a wormhole into another universe would simply be a tiny disturbance in the space time of that other universe, just like it is here. Gravity's waves go through black holes all the time. Nothing much happens.

no such thing as gravitational "waves" - lidar detects EM influence ... light IS NOT AFFECTED BY GRAVITY - - light IS AFFECTED BY MAGNETISM or EM period.
