Mate she sang a song that is not hers and in another language that is not even her native language and made the local people cry. “The hurts you never knew” was a remix done by her. She combined 2 classic chinese ballad songs in to one. She learned mandarin only for a week. Imagine how great she is and captured the emotions of the audience thru that song. I teared up too when I first heard the song even if I can’t understand mandarin! When you see her live, she always interact with her band whenever she performs.

What is truly amazing about these performances they did their own arrangements. She speaks Tagalog in English very well but she had to perform this in Chinese what she did not know 3 weeks before this performance. All of the great Filipino singers always pack emotion into every performance so they're all chameleons of presentation❤❤❤❤

Hi! KZ's last name TANDINGAN is pronounced like tan-DING-an. The first 2 syllables sound like English "standing", but minus the S and switching the emphasis to the "ding" syllable. Then just link the last part ("an") without pausing between syllables. tan-DING-an. 🙂

The soul, the versatility, the swag, the uniqueness, and the stage presence, that's KZ. She isn't the traditional high note belter like what most Filipino standard(sometimes the ONLY standard) is for most singers that's why she's also a breath of fresh air over here. The song "Hurts you never knew" is a medley of Chinese songs. She is not a native speaker of Mandarin, yet she managed (according to Mandarin speakers) to speak/sing the language well. She apparently had it translated to her mother tongue of Bisaya for her to internalize the emotions of the song. Truly an artist. Also I've read somewhere that she vocally trained the girls of G22.

When KZ was a child her voice was in higher pitch but unfortunately she got sick and her voice was not as high as before. She refused to stop singing and found a new way to use her new pitch voice.

Fun facts: 1. Her Wish Bus performance of RITD served as her unofficial audition to this show. The Chinese producers were looking for unique and original artists to bring to their competiton. The producers were impressed and she checked all the boxes. 2. RITD was her debut performance on the show and she topped the leaderboard in that episode. 3. At 9:34 she was kneeling and caught her earring when it slipped. In an interview later on, she narrated how nervous she was of losing the earring before she returned it to costume dept. It was Bulgari (i think) or some other luxurious, expensive brand.

I've watched Royals cover for a couple times now, pretty sure it's the fifth time, but I just realized her intro was similar to how people in the past sings (like Babaylan praying or praising their gods/deities, and also for the royalties aka Datu and stuff), like how there's a trumpet sounding that indicates of the royalty coming, it's also an iconic tone and flow of the way of singing back at the old times, similar to some European culture I've seen online. It's usually the intro of dramas covering stories of the past or their settings was that of the old times/mythology.

Singing in Chinese (I'm not sure if its Mandarin or Cantonese) was not required from any of the International singers. She wanted to connect to the audience so she took the effort to learn the lyrics phonetically. I understand the audience and coaches/mentors were impressed.
