Michigan is a GREAT state!I was a troll for most of my life. And visited the U P on vacation a lot and loved it every time😍! Now I've lived up here the last 2 years and it's been GREAT❣ Wish I would have moved up here a long time ago😀. And you do get used to the winters UP here 😊.

Next time stop at zodiac in st. Ignace after you cross the bridge for fresh pasties. Plus there are two 24 hour gas stations there. Plus a terrible truck stop.

Wow, I’m really hoping to do a U.P. Trip later this summer. I’ll have to try one of the pasty’s.

They don't taste anything like a tortilla. More like a pie crust with a dry beef stew.

I spent a lot of summers and holidays in the U.P. my uncle was stationed at K.I. Sawyer AFB when he retired from the airforce in 1995 and bought a house in Skandia TWP off Carlshend road. The winters were crazy, 6 feet or more in the winter

That little falls was Haven Falls. Silly trolls, pasties are not jelly doughnuts! Cornish mines had them in their lunches in the mines. Hope you enjoyed your U.P visit. From a Permanently Transplanted Yooper.

We were also later informed by a yooper friend that what we had were "tourist-y" pasties and were probably sitting out all day. We'll give them a real try when we find fresh ones. We loved our trip :)

That's Haven Falls! We discovered it the same way. Ha. Check 10 Foot Falls in Eagle River- very cool. We have yet to go to Montreal Falls in Copper Harbor but they are apparently incredible. Ok I'm done comment bombing now.

Michigan is a funny state to me, been here 25 years and its like a combination between California and West Virginia, if you stick down south east in the thumb, highly populated with cites, same far south western but you go past say Bay City and Saginaw its gets pretty mouth territory real quick, its beautiful but don't get me wrong I could never live up there, I can hardly live in Lapeer LMAO
@KyleFields
@KyleFields 4 жыл бұрын
Haha I totally get what you mean. Winters are even hard in Metro Detroit, but in Northern Mi or the UP? No thank you :) The unique variety of people, landscape, and culture is why I care so deeply for our state ❤️
