What a fun video and your vibe in this is chef's kiss, space buns on point. I found myself saying hells yeah at the beginning conversation. This felt like such a fun hangout. I would love to hear you talk about your menopause journey. I turn 40 this year and definitely interesting how little this topic seems to be talked about outside of general passing comments (ie jokes about hot flashes but not all the unexpected experiences that aren't discussed). Thank you so much. I learned a lot about the Menopause Journey from Dr Barbara Taylor here on YT. Her channel is called Menopause Taylor. I had a session with her too and it was super helpful. The thing that saved me in my 40s was getting on the pill to regulate my hormones. It was a lifesaver. But everyone's journey is so nuanced. Regarding sickness: YES when being sick it is such a vulnerable time. And, when I was young my mom used to get mad at me and yell at me if I got sick. So I always felt I had to hide any sickness, work through it, not go to the doctor unless it was really bad, etc.... I felt like I would get in trouble if I was sick. Felt very unsupported. I am sure I need a therapist even today due to this, ugh! So I hear you on that part.

Yay!!! A stitch fix video, lol. I’m from your OG crowd 😊 I love those pants at the end, so freaking cute. You look great in them!! I’m happy with whatever content you put out there but this was a fun flashback to your older content. I am definitely in perimenopause, not sure if menopause yet. My doctor told me it’s when I haven’t had my period for a year. My last one was in July. I’m 46, so I have this fear I’ll spend the next 10 years hovering at that 11 month range 😂

Thanks - I listened along just to hear your thought process. I was thinking this morning how I have worked from home for so long - even pre-pandemic - and now almost everyone at the company is perma-remote that I have really settled into just wearing comfy clothes. Some 15 years ago I was doing LOA work and wanted to manifest being able to work my job in yoga pants - now I find I manifested that a long time back and didn’t realize it. My thing now is finding pajama pants that look like something fit to be worn in public on the rare occasion I stir from home so I don’t have to think about it! Because let’s be honest - I make sure my top is camera worthy but I put on pajama pants every damn day for work and I like it that way.

Thanks for talking about these things and with a supportive approach. I'm sorry you were told such things growing up (at any time in life really). We have to do so much work to nurture our self worth and meet our needs don't we. I loved the olive T-shirt and the terracotta cardigan (could try with a deep coloured belt or necklace, pants or shoes?) On the style/colour side of things you might like to check out Donna Cameron (I like her blogs and email newsletters, ties in with things we experience in life and society). And the Chrysalis Colour Analysis podcast where Christine and Jorunn share the most beautiful descriptions of colour palettes for wearing. E.g. in Episode 45: Neutral Combinations for Autumns.

Aw Thanks Chanel! I have heard endometriosis and menorrhagia is so painful. I'm so sorry to hear that. But yes, menopause isn't the terrible beast that we have been told it is, but the medical needs don't completely go away, sadly. But it is a relief in many ways. :) And thanks for liking my hair. lol

I loved this Christine. I’m gen X too turning 56 in the fall and I get the struggles but we can make it if we r gentle w ourselves and wear what we darn want! I’m so done w heels too. I don’t even think they’re hot anymore. I’m into graphic tees one of my fave tees says “ pretty powerful” so my fave piece of your fashion show was the “feel your feelings” t shirt. There are so many things to comment on here that I loved! 1) space buns - hell yeah! My hair is long so I wear them too, and I Dutch braid my hair every day for work. I get so many comments (mostly compliments) 2) the terracotta jacket looks beautiful on in you - great color! 3) the orange pants are SO cute! I'll check out the links you talked about. I'm 48 and definitely perimenopausal - it's a hard transition. I grew up knowing all there was to know about getting my period, and pregnancy etc etc but literally nothing about Peri/Menopause. It's like poking around in the dark, so I would love seeing a video here about it. It feels like a safe space for these conversations, so thanks for that! Also, I'm definitely in my "what's my style now?" era. I just went shopping last week and bought a new outfit that I LOVE (completely new style for me) and I'm waiting to get a pair of shoes to wear with it - but I'm SO nervous 😅 Ugh. But I'm going to do it because we can wear all genres of style, right? It doesn't have to be one and done! (Also, don't feel like you have to reply to everything I said here, it was a lot 😂😂)

Thanks for sharing your story....so many of us I am sure can relate. Weight: My mom used to tell me when I was growing up that I was going to be fat and lazy like my Aunt Donna if I didn't watch it. Then all the little comments you hear throughout your life from different people and how SOCIETY mandates how we look. If you are pretty and thin you get better treatment, more jobs, better pay, etc... So we are fighting against so much just to feel good about ourselves. Then menopause hits and it is a whole other S-show! LOL
