Discovering the Fair in Humulesti with Lucian Georgescu - Part 1 (Târgu Neamt, Romania)

The Humulesti ”obor” (livestock fair) is the descendant of the old fairs in Târgu Neamt that over time migrated from the town perimeter to the outskirts until it reached where it is now, on the other bank of the Ozana, in Humulesti. The fairgorund in Humulești is located in the area where the child Ion Creanga used to bathe, but at the time when Ionica (Ion Creanga) was trying to sell the linden tree hoopoe, the village clock, the fair was located in a completely different part, namely at the foot of Neamt Fortress.
Currently, the ”obor” from Humulesti has a double role. First of all, the weekly fair is held here (recently changed to Saturday), and secondly, during the week of Pentecost, there is a big entertaining fair (but also this in connection with the patron saint and the fair of the Neamt Monastery, of the Ascension of the Lord).
The name of "obor" (livestock fair) under which the Humulesti fair is known, is no longer so correct, being in fact more of a bazaar. On fair days, the area is very lively and merchants come from far away, Târgu Neamt being located at the transition between the mountains and the plains.
Many merchants, as we see in the video, don't even enter the perimeter of the fair, but display their goods on the access road from the bridge from Humulesti (which crosses Ozana connecting with the town of Târgu Neamț) to the gate of the fairground.
The present video captures aspects of the fair precisely in this sector, from the bridge to the gate of the fair. The people with whom we come into contact and discuss aspects of the goods, but also life problems, are the following: Mr. Butnariu from Grumazesti (traditional fur hats), a gentleman from Grumazesti (curd), Mrs. Mina Irimia from Humulesti (handmade decorative rugs), a gentleman from Târgu Mures (handmade wicker baskets), Mr. Ferdinand Copos (tin worker) ), Mrs. Maria Sârghi from Grumăzesti (hand-woven woolen stockings), a family from Grumazesti (cheeses) and Mr. Averescu from Târgu Neamt (horse dealer).
All our footages are spontaneous, unrehearsed and undirected.

D-le Lucian,am o mare rugaminte: ma puteți ajuta cu un nr de telefon a unei persoane care vinde branza?? Doresc sa cumpăr cu plata ramburs prin curier rapid sau prioripost,pentru ca nu am card. Va mulțumesc anticipat !

Vă mulțumim pentru interes, dar brânza, ca orice brânză care nu e în raft la super-market, nu se cumpără pe negustate. Aceeași brânză poate unor să placă, altora nu. În plus, nu văd negustorul, om simplu de la țară, care să trimită ramburs. Nu-i o treabă bună nici pentru dvs. și nici pentru el.
