Wouldn't someone living retired in Puerto Plata feel overrun with the cruise ship crowds? How can it be so relaxed with all the cruise ship crowds?And why is Puerto Plata preferable to you over Sosua?

No it's a great city . Sometimes you will be happy to meet new people. the folks on the ships only go in a few spots.

From what I see I'm not interested in Sosua, or Cabarete, Terrenas. Can you recommend some quiet hotels in Puerto Plata without noisy crowds in the area, geared to older folks near stores and restaurants easy to o walk around without a car. Thanks

One place is in Sosua but not in the Strip. Its called ocean village I made a video on it nice peaceful place. You are 30 minutes from where my family is from. I want to go for xmass, If I do i would like to meet up with you. i'll take you to my relatives. they'll treat you like a king. Dominican hospitality is unmatched, not like here in the US where people dont care about others.
