Seems that the bell switch should be located near your left hand.

Probably. I was told that you are supposed to use your right hand to activate it and not cross arms by using the left. Controls on the left side with left hand and same idea for the right. The layout in this respect at least for the bell control is better on the FLIRT (left side)
